Posed as AT&T and said they were checking service in our area. Then they sent a code to my phone and told me to read it back when he got it to make sure it was working.They added 3 Authorize users on my account and will try to steal the phone number/account info to buy and activate a new phone. BEWARE!

Same happened to us. They are very legitimate sounding.

They called me and my husband. I never answered but my husband answered his phone and hung up on them. Then they called him right back which was weird.

Do NOT answer this number. I had a similar experience. They do sound legitimate, and the texts they send look authentic. They got enough information from me to select an expensive cell phone through my online AT&T account. Before they called the 3rd time I contacted AT&T and they said the calls were not generated by them and not to answer or reply to their texts. AT&T changed my security code over the phone, so the scammers weren’t able to purchase the phone with MY money.  When they called again, and I didn’t answer, they immediately called the other phone associated with my account. She didn’t answer it, so they tried both phones one more time and when we didn’t answer, it stopped. Then, yesterday they tried the whole scam again. Same number, same number of calls to both phones. DO NOT answer these calls. Others haven’t been as fortunate as I was, and they’ve had pricey phones charged to their accounts.

They do seem authentic. Their phone number even goes through saying it is AT&T if you call. Total scam my husband fell for as they accessed our account and were trying to buy phones ect. but we contacted AT&T fast enough to get this stopped. Don't EVER give any information over the phone if they say they are with a company you do business with. Call the official number to then see if the call was real and take care of it from there.

The same situation happened. The caller had info about our whole AT&T plan to try and appear professional. They called everyone on our plan trying to get a response. While my mom was talking to them I looked up the number and found this page. She hung up on them and they tried calling me just seconds afterwards. I told them that I knew this was a scam and they hung up immediately. Apparently they tried to call my sisters as well and my mom got bombarded with texts after she hung up for a bit.

They called me twice today first time i didn’t answer second time i answered and said stop calling but as what you guys are saying just don’t fall for scams and don’t answer this number

Just got the same call from the same number.  They said they were verizon fraud center or something of that nature.  I just hung up.  Verizon doesn't just call like that.

Telling me that AT&T is doing some repair work and will be experiencing issues during the repair.  When I pressed him about why I didn't receive a message in typical fashion, e-mail, text, etc from a verifiable method, he hung up.....

Just got a call from this number, saying that they’re from att wireless, saying that there’ll will be an issue with the att service and they are sending me back $35 credits to my accounts. She said that there’ll be a conformation text sent to me and ask me to read it for her. but the text actually is a reply for att password changing request and includes a temporary att password. Hanged on her afterwards.

Got many calls within minutes apart from this number on 6 of my phones that share a plan. Answered 1 of the calls stating that we owed a bill on the plan and needed payment to keep from disconnecting service. I knew then immediately that is was fake since I didn’t owe anything, as soon as I questioned them as a scam, they hung up. I checked my att account online and nothing was owed. This caller sounded ligament...BEWARE! Don’t give your personal info out or participate in giving info! Hang up and call AT&T directly.

Pretended to be at&t they said they would send me a text which would print a pin and give to them. I did they got into my account changed all of the info and made out with over $2000 on my bank buying two phones.
