- Kevin replies to RickWe also own a small business and were called by an unknown number who said we would get a discount on our next phone bill. They purported to be from Verizon (which is where we have our phones), but upon prodding they admitted they were from United Telecom. We were clear that we did not want what they were trying to give us, but I am worried that something will show up on our bill.
They gave this 888-381-5903 number as a callback number. This is some sort of scam. - Beagle Shippingthis also happened to me, they have heavy accents speak fast, I out of kindness thought it was a telemarketer so I jus said yes to be done with what I thought was his survey ended up getting charged the same amount, they are rude and wont help!
- Caller: UNITED TELECOM, INC. USBO
- Allyson| 1 replySame crap as stated above. When is someone going to do something about this?

- AngrySame thing happened to my small business. They are such scammers. I spoke to someone name Adeline, she didn't have an accent but was rude and unhelpful. She stated they were not going to remove the charges because I had authorized the change. Well what I authorized was ATT making a small change to my bill lowering it a couple dollars, well of course I said yes (who wouldn't?). Oh it upset me.

- Ricky| 1 replyOur Telephone Long Distance Service is provided by AT & T, it is a part of the package we choose. Including Free Long Distance Call. And I also request a “Service Freeze” and “Service Change Confirmation call” to prevent unauthorized change.
There was this company called me earlier in the year - later I learned it was United Telephone, about our LD telephone service. I told the person that we are with AT&T and it is a FREE LD come with the package, he said "Even through it is a Free LD, I still need to verify the LD carrier". And I ask this person if he/she ( I do not remember) an AT&T employee, the answer was "Yes". Then it was a recording session about the service.
A couple of days later AT&T contact me about the service change, then I found this Company - United Telecomm, trying to take over the LD service. And I told AT&T this was a fraud, and told him the story above. AT&T noted and the LD service was still within AT&T never switched.
In Feb, 2010 I received my telephone bill and found USBI on behalf of United Telecomm charging me $257.80 for LD service. Immediately I call United & USBI about the charge and request for refund. They denied and told me about the recording, I ask them if they record the part I said about AT&T free LD and verify if they are AT&T employee... they told me "NO, the law only required them to record the confirmation part... This is a Slamming process, I confirm the LD only because they told me "they are AT&T employee & they told me Even I have Free LD, I still need to verify the service.carriier..."
I wish you can post this dispute and complain to let everyone in the world know what they did to us hopefully it will prevent them to do the same to other people. Also can you on behalf of us to have the Law maker stop this kind of the slamming and put them away from the market place.
Sincerely Yours,
Ricky- Caller: UNited Telephone

- Jackie replies to allen brown| 1 replySame thing happened to me, my first clue should have been when she asked me for all of our phone #'s. Then stopped taping my phone conversation when I didn't give her the answers she wanted. I'm so mad that I fell for this, I know better. Luckily the owner of the company froze the accounts. Should ALWAYS following my instinct and I didn't this time.

- CrystalUGH!... So I just received a call from these idiots claiming they are with AT&T and b/c they have a new long distance provider, the monthly amount will be lowered $29.99/Per Line!..
I told her at first shes another one of those aggravating telemarketers so she goes on to explain shes not selling anything only informing me that my bill will be lowered next month. Well, long story short when she was recording all this crap, she gave me a phone number to contact to cancel and I googled it while she was still talking and saw this thread! .. I immediately said NO NO NO I DO NOT CONFIRM ANYTHING.. And told her shes full of crap..and she acted dumb founded and was curious as to what this thread said.. so I told her and she hung up..
So I called United Telecom immediately and demanded to talk to a manager. I then got transferred to ADELINE.. (shes mentioned above) and supposedly she didn't know crap either but I told her I was informing AT&T immediately and not to dare call our number again. I made her block our business from everything.- Caller: United Telecom
- Tracy| 1 replyUSBI billing on behalf of United Telecom showed up on my small business bill. They are slamming, which means they are changing long distance carrier to United Telecom and charging through local telephone third party billing. I along with local telephone rep. also reached Adeline @ United Telecom, she is very rude, and refuses credit. I have filed an FCC Slamming complaint, the company can face up to $40,000 fine for slamming. Is a simple process and I recommend anyone else with this problem to report it. FCC Slamming Complaint Form 501. Can get the form at fcc.gov and fax, email, or mail it to the slamming team. I also placed what's called a PIC freeze, along with a third party block on our long distance so that it cannot be changed without my direct approval.

- PCH| 1 replyThey're still up to their dirty tricks. We have recieved DOZENS of phone calls telling us we didn't get a discount and they're going to add one. We have not authorized anything but they won't stop calling. They claim they are with ATT.

- Mary Lou replies to allen brownThey "crammed" me as well. I called them and told them to cancel whatever "service" they were providing. I talked to a supervisor trying to get the charges dropped. She said I had to write the main office and proceeded to give me an incorrect address. I have made a complaint to the FCC. Their number is 1-888-225-5322. If the FTC gets enough complaints they can also take action. Their number is 877-382-4357.
I too will drop AT&T because they have been very lame dealing with this. - Mary Lou replies to RickyPlease make a complaint to the FCC, 1-888-225-5322. They are such dirt bags we have to stand up to them in a way that counts. The FTC can get involved if enough people complain as well, 877-382-4357.
