Scam call to inform me that a $299 charge for internet security software (McAfee or Norton) would be placed on my checking account unless I cancelled the service. They requested that I must  go to my computer and that they would provide instructions as to how the cancellation would be performed on-line.

East Indian scammers have come up with a new one. I terminated the call when it was an obvious scam operation.

said they were from geek squad through amazon and if I didnt cancel I would be billed 199. For renewal billed to my credit card.  He Didnt know which card, I said I dont have a computer or laptop. I told them they're scamners and I hung up.

Called and said I had a subscription that was about to expire and I needed to pay 299 so I didn't lose my subscription.  I pushed 1 (knowing it was already a scam) and when the person with a thick accent came on the line  I told him that I didn't know why he was calling me as I didn't have a subscription or even own a PC.
