Says they were calling from will county for an associate that wants to serve me legal paper???

I got the same call said his name from some place said he was serving me legal documents between 2-3 pm tom

This is a scammer.  Process servers do not call people a head of time.  Don't give out any personal information to anyone if you ever get a call like this.  Tell them you are contacting your local DA's office and the Attorney General with the State.  They will hang up immediately!

got the same call today, they were calling parents house, they had my name, my last 4, said they were an independent process server for City Serve and they said they would be by the home between 2-3pm if not they would go to my employer and serve a supervisor. I called them and they sounded all official until I started questioning them and then they hung up.

I got the same  call today but came from a local number telling me to call 888-633-8894. I did call this number and they identified my name by my phone number and then asked me for the last four of my social which they verbalized 4 numbers but I couldn't verify it.  Since I wouldn't verify it, They said they would go ahead and just deliver  me the papers with the courier on Wednesday between 11-3.and then I would find out what it was about.  I said OK .   Some complaint against my name.   I also had a call at work.  The message left had a lot of talking in the background.

Kudos to the one who mentioned that process servers don't call ahead and give a while spill on the phone.

I got the call asking for someone totally different than me. Saying they need to serve me between certain hours today. (What, I race home to meet someone who will not be showing up?) Then they are gonna serve me at my work which requires supervisors to witness. (They are going to throw my business out there for everyone to know??) I can call the person who filed this to find out any information. (Best one of all. Not call them to arrange a place to meet that has all the information in the documents.. but call the people who filed it directly about the information so I won't miss my court date) Process servers want their money for serving the papers.

All this call was geared to do is first validate your number as a working number, second... obtain as much personal information as they can about the person who does call back, i.e Name/DOB/Social Security #/and possibly they may shoot for your current address and, which by the way, they always ask "can you verify your full address."

They are cold calling phone numbers. So many people fall for these spammers out of fear or for whatever is going on in their world that makes them think they are under scrutiny!  These people sound knowledgeable and don't get me wrong, they are sometimes pretty sharp.

Please be careful what information you give to people over the phone, or he'll, even in person.  All of you out there know your own issues you face. Just be cautious.  The only one who can truly protect you is you.

I received the same call but from two different people and the same call back number.  They are call 4 to six times a day and load up my voice mail.  I've locked the number but to no avail.
