Said they were from Verizon and offering deals.

I called Verizon, the person said that it could be a fraud or it could jut be a vender. I was given the extension number 782, and the persons name was Reggie

Got a phone call...said they were Verizon's "win back" dept.   Offered me a pkg but when I asked about epix the person (Damon Duncan ext.735) didn't know what I was talking about. Sent me to another person (Ken) who said, "sorry,Fios not available in your area" and hung up abruptly. I tried to call back but can only get an answering machine with not identification as verizon. I called Verizon (and Fios is available in my area) to report it and my current carrier to place my account on high security.
