not sure who they are but he keeps saying I have a bad check out but would not tell me anything about it on the phone wanted me to call back so we can discuss the matter his name is shawn taylor and the name of the company he did say but he said it so low i couldn't understand him plus the only check out for me would be something already on my credit that is over 2 years old. be on the look out also for a company calling telling you that you have won a 100 dollar giftcard and when they get done they want you to listen to an advertisement and you have to say yes to acknowledge you have heard the message they promise that there is no charge because you are not a member of the club and when i seleted no the guy came back on the line and said i had to choose yes to get the card the next few day i spent time having to get the bank and 2 other outside sources to put my money back

I have received the call from the same No. but i didn't pick it up and i was listening voice message saying about having a bad credit. I don't why these call for me and been keep getting very often. Is it any serious, or some SPAMMER.

got a voice message from same #. said something about commonwealth. it wasn't very clear. i had an issue before with these scams. the # was a new york area code. i called the attorney general of new york and they are full aware of the scams. they told me these people call from canada and have fake p.o. box #'s in the states. also told me not to worry about it. they have nothing on me.

I recieved a phone call last night from this number tellin me i had charges on me from bad checks... I asked from what company and he wouldnt tell me.. said that i needed to get a lawyer cause i was going to jail... i then called back at 12:43am and y did someone pick up the phone??? Im tryn to make sure i dnt have anything to worry bout this

This person called and said I wrote checks against closed account and that I had to come up with 1900.00 or I was going to jail. I never wrote bads checks against a closed account. He said he had video and that I was 99% identified. He was insulting and rude.  I did have a unresolved debt with check cashing facility for a two hundred dollars from 3 years before. I lost my job and was unable to pay. I think it went against my credit. It really scared me. My mom was able to call him back and he diclosed my person info without asking for any info but my name. My mom thought it ws wierd that he would be calling on Saturday around 6:00pm. He uses scare tactic and shock factor to strong arm you into committing to something you didn't do. He said his name is John or Don Greco calling from Texas Round up  commonwealth investigations. Be careful. A different number comes up on caller Id 202-400-3094. He gave me 888-392-8605 ext 1002 to call back and settle before 5:00pm Monday? Or Felony would be in affect.

scam---received a call novan white  from 2024003493  said he representing the commonwealth of washington investigating fraud on my social security number  left this number 888-392 8605 x1001  w/case number

This same thing happened to me today. so what did you do?

The call was for my husband.  He said his name was John Accord and that he was with Commonwealth Investigations.  He said he could not talk to me about it, that they needed a statement from him.  That it was a court matter.  My husband says he knows nothing about it.  This is not the first bunch and once before we paid someone saying my husband owed $623.00 and never received the statement or anything they promised us.  I'm tired of these idiots.  It's getting old and we don't know what to do about them other than not pay them.

Please Please Please do not give these people any of your personal information. They are a scam. I only found out they are a scam because they called my family's phone number and left my social security number on his voicemail. They also called my work number and left my social and the details of why they were specificially calling. I found out from the Government that it is illegal for them or any debt collector to put anything on a voicemail other than " Hi my name is so and so from Common Wealth, this message is for so and so. Please call us back at (number). Anything else is illegal and i was informed that if you keep getting calls from them or voicemail, please save them because you can sue them for harrassement or for breaking the law and leaving your personal information with someone other than you.

I recieved a call from this group today.  They called from number 202-400-3496 and left a call back number 888-392-8605 on voicemail.  They said they are with Commonwealth.  I suspect this is a scam because I have perfect credit and never so much as a bounced check.  

This is the message they left on my my cell phone.  It was hard to make out but this is as best I could tell:

Due to your unresponsiveness a formal complaint has been filed bearing your name and social security number.  To review all immediate right and details and avoid all check system or systant proceedings contact the Commonwealth immediately at 1-888-392-8605.

I recieved a voice mail from these guys, the exact same thing everybody else had however when I called them back they said I was a referenced and they were trying to get ahold of one of my best friends, they knew her name and everything. So naturally I called her and was like whats up and she had no clue, so i checked here and now realizing it is a scam they are getting more elaborate but thankfully they dont have any of our details.

A 202-400-3094 number just called my desk at work and told me to call back another number. I called it back and it said to enter's my party's extension, I was never given one. I pressed 0 for the operator and it hung up on me. When I answered the phone it said:

"Due to your unresponsiveness a formal complaint has been filed bearing your name and social security number.  To review all immediate right and details and avoid all check system or systant proceedings contact the Commonwealth immediately at 1-888-392-8605."

I'm assuming this is a scam?? It was a computerized voice and I have no idea what it's talking about and it gave me no info other than that message.

I just checked my answering machine at my business and received the same message as all of you above.  I have never written a bad check and have excellent credit, so I could not imagine what matter this was refferencing nor was any info given in the message.  The phone number left was: 1-888-392-8605 and when I called it just rang 6 times then hung up.  Like all of you above I now beleive the computer generated message left is total BS and would advise all who receive it to disregard and not give out any personal info to this modern day scammer fishing for your personal info.  If it was legit a certified letter would have been sent with pertinent info and a description of such a complaint.

These people are calling my parents home & me, stating they are with the offi e of the commonwealth investigations. The caller was very rude to my mom, and explained I was going to jail,etc.I have had terrible identity theft and this must be yet another step of it. Also, this violates the Federal Trade Commission trade regulations rules. Which I can explain in depth if necessary.

I just arrived at work this morning and as always check my voicemail for messages.  I received the samw message as the above complaints.  Who are these people and why are they such nuisances!!!  To call someone and leave rude messages on their work phone is just unheard of and this could cause an employee to lose his/her job.  How can we end this practice????

I received the same call last night.  When I tried to call back and didn't have an extension, I pressed 0 for the operator and it hung up.  Tried again today, before seeing these posts, and it just rang and rang.  Thank you everyone for putting these posts on here as I can now relax!

I received the same message yesterday evening. Thanks for all the posts. the number was 1-888-392-8605. I am glad it is a scam, I was concerned I had been a victim on identity theft..so thank you very much, I hope they get theses people.

I received a call from the same number yesterday. When I called back, I pressed 0 and got an a man. I asked him what it was in reference to, what was the name of the company making an accusation against me.  He said he couldn't tell me that Commonwealth Investigations would be filing a complaint against me. I inquired at what court would the complaint be filed, which he couldn't tell me.  He claimed I owed $2300 in addition if I didn't want to settle there would be an additional $1500 fee added to the claim.  He finally transferred me to someone who could give me more information.  The person he transferred me to was John Accord.  The guy was rude, kept accusing me of writing bad checks, I finally kept drilling him with questions until he told me that the company he was representing was Cashnet USA.  I've never had any business with that company, which I told him.  Since he was nasty with me, I told him that I would await a court summons so that I could get it cleared up because I was not going to provide him with any personal information.  Then for kicks I told him that he should know the call was being recorded. He flipped out on me and hung up. I'll wait to see if anyone attempts to serve me for something that has nothing to do with me.

I JUST GOT A CALL FROM JOHN ACCORD SAYING THAT M&T BANK IS SUING ME UNLESS I COME TO ARRANGMENTS OUTSIDE OF COURT SAID I HAVE TO PAY TO PAYMENTS OF 550. IS THIS A SCAM
