Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

I just received a call from this number saying that they were an officer Mike Jones  from the IRS Washington D.C. office that if I did not pay back taxes for the year 2008 through 2012 that I would be arrested . I called our local sheriffs office and reported the call and they said it was a scam . The number they called from was 888-393-1964. This caller also had a very thick accent .I gave them no personal information. but sure did upset me .

Our answering machine had 2 messages left by "Sarah" from the IRS threatening us for our tax evasion and tax fraud.  "She" left two different phone numbers:  1-888-393-1964 and 1-844-854-5595.  Knowing we pay our taxes on time every year, we figured this was a fraud.  Looking at these posts confirms our thinking.  I will definitely be reporting these to the IRS.

I just got a call from what sounds like the same guy from India. Thick accent and said his name was Steve White. He insisted my husband call him back immediately and said it involved tax fraud.  He would not tell me any information  We are not calling back and I will report it.

Anyone who responds to this obviously bogus scam deserves to get ripped off. The young lady told me the IRS would send the county sheriff to arrest me, if I didn't call back immediately! ;o)
