- Irate over This!!!Got a call from a Robert Green who said he wanted to send me my charges but I needed to confirm my home or work address. I told him he could send it to my lawyer and he said no they would have to be sent to me. He then told me I needed to call Global because they have my case and my charges. When you call Global they want a claim number but half of the information they have is wrong! Do not give them anything! It is a scam!!! They will be mean and rude to try and get you to pay them. I have contacted Verizon and the FTC and have filed complaints with both plus called the local authorities.

- highly annoyed| 1 replyI received a call from a blocked number on 3-11-13 from a Lisa Matthews who said she was calling in regards to an order that was submitted to her office that morning regarding my son (she did not mention the name of her company), and that she needed to verify the address to present him with his formal claim at his residence and place of employment. The message was personally directed at him. She used his name throughout the entire message, stating that he has charges in the claim against him. She said "Now at this point sir you have one opportunity to contact the firm handling your claim to discuss this matter immediately. You can reach them at 888-393-4615. You have officially been notified."
Since then, I have received 3 more threatening messages. Either they don't identify their name or they mumble it. The company they represent is also inaudible but the threatening message is very clear and annunciated. After the 4th call (yesterday morning at 6:30 am) I was able to determine that the name of the company is Security PB or Security Processing Bureau. We have received nothing in the mail informing us that there is a debt owed or a civil claim. Yesterday's call was from a Denise Ziegler who said that my son has 48 hours to respond and settle this or else we will be scheduled for service of notice of intent to appear in court pending litigation. They said this is about a bank issue. (So wouldn't the bank contact us??) She then said that unless she hears otherwise, she is scheduled to "be out tomorrow" and that my son "needed to make himself available all day with identification for his serving purposes".
These people have called my other daughter and my son's dad. This could be from a very old debt that has been written off. If we respond, we could make the debt current. They have committed numerous violations against the Federal Trade Commission laws: calling at 6:30 am, leaving someone else's personal information on my phone, not to mention harassment. I filed a complaint with the FTC and have saved all the voice messages. Oh, and no one has shown up to serve us with court papers.
Do not answer their calls or contact them - if you do, you open the door to these vultures. They have probably purchased old debt and are now using unscrupulous scare tactics to get people to react and give them money. This is not how a civil judgment is handled.- Caller: Security Processing Bureau
- Call type: Debt collector
- Elspeth replies to highly annoyedYou're absolutely right - this is NOT how civil cases are handled. If they were legitimate debt collectors, they would not be threatening arrest (Violation #1), they also cannot say "you have officially been notified" because to do so, it has to be via court process server or certified mail (Violation #2) and she has disclosed alleged charges, etc to someone other than the person they pertain to (Violation #3)!
They also have not sent a debt validation letter proving the debt is your son's, and that they are legally entitled to collect in your state. And if it was a bank issue, your son's bank would have contacted him first.
If the debt has been written off, and they refuse to provide proof that your son does owe it to them, I would get their company name and address and send them a cease and desist letter, certified mail/return receipt requested. Once you have proof that they have received this letter, if any further calls occur, you can see an attorney and file suit against them for violating the cease and desist order.
