Robocall claims to be from the IRS, threatening a lawsuit.  I called back to let the guy (Indian) know I will be  calling police and IRS.  

Also received a call this morning, related, from 202-241-1344.

Received a call from 202-241-1344 in the morning and two Robocalls from 888-394-6941 a few hours later threatening a lawsuit. I did not call back but searched the internet and found this post which confirmed my suspicion that it was a scam.

I just got a call from this ROBO call 888-394-6941.  This is a scam. Guy with heavy accent tells me I owe $1642 now or pay $25,000 in fees if I were to lose the case in court. I asked why I had not been contacted by certified mail, to be told, this was so serious, they could not leave me a notice at the door.  When I asked to verify his identity again, I was told that I would find out who he is when the sheriff is on my door step to arrest me and then he hung up.  I plan on calling the IRS to inform this of this.  Some people could fall into this scam, very sad.  

The IRS already knows about these scum buckets.  They are in India or Pakistan so the U.S. government can not do anything about it.  It is just a scam.  The IRS does notify you in writing if there is a problem.

Just received a recorded message from 888-394-6941, stating they are the IRS and that a lawsuit has been filed in court in my name. I did report this to our Sheriff's office. The IRS will never call you, be aware

got 3 calls today from 8883946941. pretending  to be from tax office of the IRS. Got treats from some indian guy with accent. i notified the real IRS and local police dept.

Received same recorded message as other posts. I called the number back. I asked who I was speaking to...the guy
said, "you called me so who are you?" I then asked if I could speak to a supervisor. He said "NO" and hung up.

I know the IRS doesn't call but I feel better after reading these posts!

The voice mail on my phone at home had a message from this number to call.  I called because I could not make out what the man was saying.  He asked me if my name was such and such and then asked for my husband. He said he was from the IRS. I told him that he (my husband) was unavailable and he got ugly and said for my husband to call him back.  He said his name was "Ray" and his extension was "111".  Found this site when I entered in the phone number, and feel better knowing it's a scam.  Thanks guys

Same experience for me. Three missed calls in the last 2 days. My wife answered the fourth and called said he is from IRS. Lot of other sites, where people reported such calls from the same number.

Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Received two voice mails from this number. Searched the net and found this is robo call. Also for other to be aware my other two such experiences.

1) Receive call from a guy saying his from Microsoft security team and wanted me to go to a specific website. Poor guy did not know that I work in IT security.
2) Received another voice mail saying that the call was from my county office and I have to call back immediately to pay some fine otherwise Sheriff will come to take legal action.  I called my county office and Sheriff's office and came to know that they did not make any such phone calls to my house. They are prank calls.

I also received a call from 8883946941.  Called them back twice as I was really concerned.  First time I got a guy who looked up my phone number and asked for my ex-husband.  I told him that he didn't live here and then he just hung up on me.  I then called back and spoke to a guy identifying himself as officer Christian (last name) and that he worked for IRS.  We then got disconnected.  Both times the guy that answered spoke with an Indian accent.  I then search the number on the internet and found out it was a scam.  

Have received three robo-calls (NOT live persons) in past two days from 888-394-6941. Same basic message that there is  some problem with the IRS and it's really important that I call back. Yeah, uh-huh. Haven't bothered to call back and won't.

Received the same.  Called some older folks tonight to let them know it's a scam.  It's good to give a heads up to those who may be vulnerable.

Just got the same call.  When I said that I didn't believe there was really a lawsuit "against my name" he hung up.

Just got home to find 2 messages threatening legal action if I didn't call back. I got one of these  [***] on the phone, he barely spoke English, all I told him was phone #, he somehow new my wife's name & said he was from IRS. He asked who I was, I said her husband & before I could ask for a supervisor, he hung up. I quess so much for registering with the "Do not call" agency.

I do not wish to receive anymore phone calls from this number.  It is a scam and I do not want to be harassed any longer.

These people are hard-core criminals working out of India.  They ignore all US laws.   Call blocker is your best bet.

Call blocker is your best bet.   They will not stop calling you.  They never stop.  These calls are not random,-- they know your financial history and personal history and hope that you will be vulnerable in some sense or another.   Block their calls.  Tell 'em to go to hell!
