888-397-2879

Received a call from these people but took some digging to find out information on them.  The original call came from a spoofed number of 623-242-0453.  Upon listening to the message, they then listed their number as 888-397-2879 (which when googled lists a Florist in Oklahoma) .  According to their website, their actual number is 877-569-4713 (which has also been crossposted over there too).  Googling the company also yielded the number of 866-650-1858 (which looks like it was only used for 2 years but has been posted there as well).  Finally, upon calling them, I got the name of C A B Asset Management. They were calling to verify the address of my husband regarding a PayDay Loan.  There is a lot of BS on here from 'anonymous' which I am assuming is a member of their company.  But, I would just like to point out a few facts on this "supposed" debt we owe.  

1.  They claim this is for a PayDay Loan.  My husband is active military and has been for almost 20 years.  Because of the predatory nature of payday loans, the military has capped the amount of interest that can be charged to them and therefore most companies now refuse payday loans to active military because they don't want to comply with the 36% cap.  

2.  Military wages can only be garnished for specific debts, such as child support or alimony.  

3.  My husband has not done a payday loan since being stationed where we are now (for the last 3 years) and prior to that was overseas for 3 years so it is highly unlikely that this is a valid debt.

These people have refused to forward any information regarding when this "may" have been done, by whom, where, when and how much.  They of course did the whole threaten of court and garnishment, I brought up the fact we were military and at that point they got EXTREMELY hostile and ended up hanging up on me.

This is who the company is, I called and told them to no longer call me, I didn't care why they were calling but the harassment must stop! Looking on the internet, it appears they purchase old debts and try to bully you into paying something but have nothing stating that there is a debt owed to them.

When they call, which is multiple times a day, they ask for a current address for a legal document.  They come through as a local 404- number.  The message they leave has the number 888-397-2879, Sam Walker is the contact.  I did return the call one time.  They decided I was the wife of my sister's ex-husband.  Really???  ZERO chance.  I requested they remove my name and number from their files.  The lady said she would.  She didn't.  Another message just left.  WTH??  Oh, and they don't say who they are.  Thanks to those respondents above who told.
