They Just called. Robocall with female voice says, if you want to lower your interest rates, stay on the line and press 1. If not interested, press 3 and hang up. Now before I go any fuarther, normally, I don't answer and if I did, I'd immediately hang up and block. But, I've had a bust my chops frustrating kind of day and I wanted to have a little bit of perverse fun to cap it off.

So a young man who was from somewhere in India or Pakistan, maybe Bangladesh came on. Nice accent. Said his name was Eric. I said, what an interesting Northern European name!  What country are you from? "I'm from America".  Now, I don't know too many Americans who when asked would say America. Maybe they do, but most people I know will say, I'm from the US or USA.  So, I ask what company are you from? He goes into the whole "do you want to lower your interest rate for 1 year?"  I asked him again, what company do you represent?  Again, he started in with, "I can lower your interest rate to 0% for the next year."  Last time, I ask, what financial institution do you represent, and please answer me before you go any farther. Hes said, "Capital One, Chase, Bank of America, we represent them all. Your were chosen for this offer because of your excellent credit rating. All you have to do is to give me some information so I can lower your interest rates."  I asked, what kind of information? He replied, let's start with your expiration date. I relied that I haven't expired yet. I'm still alive. The joke was lost on him.  And he stayed quiet long enough for me to say, "Look. This is not how financial institutions work. That annoyed him a bit. "How do you know how they work?"  Well, usually the customer shops around on their own if their credit card company doesn't make them a good offer. Or, the offer will come in the mail .  Can you send me that information in the mail? Oh, and by the way, I used to work for a bank."  Click.

Bottom line:  I had my fun through sarcasm and now I feel better. Please put this number on your blocked list.
