This caller is obsessed and doesn’t stop harassing me for a federal student loan I never applied for

Student loan scam. Her name was jenelle, ext. 3196 and reference # 00482. I'm too dang old to have a student loan.

Same as reported above:  "Jenelle, x 3196, reference# 00482" calling about "changes to my student loan".  Caller did NOT identify the company, which is a huge red flag.  Also, they left a DIFFERENT number for callback:  888-399-9829.  DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER.

I am flabbergasted about idea that I am currently in default of students loans. I did have student loans but they are paid off..

Left a voicemail saying the were responding to my online request for financial assistance. I've never asked for financial assistance let lone online. She was VERY chirpy and cheerful. Block and deleted.

This number did not show up on my caller ID (showed up as private call) but left a voice mail (as described by others very chirpy and cheerful) saying they were responding to my online request for financial assistance.  Which of course I had not done this.  Since Janelle advised me to call back to the 888-399-9829 number, I am adding my experience here.   I'm not able to block a private number unfortunately.
