received a text from this number claiming to be Sterling Bank and that I should call immediately.  No details of why I should call

Received text on cell phone with "alert" from Sterling Bank; that I should contact them immediately.  No other details.  Isn't it a federal offense to communicate these bogus calls through a cell phone?  FCC should be forwarded all complaints about these fools using up our time & energy sources.

I also got a message like this. The message was actually an image...

Recieved an image text saying that I should call for further assistance. I called the FBI, FTC, and Sterling Bank. Hpefully if we all do this they will be shut down.

Just rcvd a text image stating to call Sterling Bank. Since I don't do any business with them, I have no idea if it is them or who is sending this text or why.

This appears to be fraudulent text phishing ... the toll free number has been disabled.

Called from 720-232-7543 claiming to be Xcel Energy about to disconnect my gas.  Call back numbers listed as that # and 888-400-6866.  Both not Xcel.  Also my gas bill is current, amt owed is $0.

Received automated mesg, claiming to be Xcel Energy, imminently preparing to shut off service due to non-payment.  I have automatic draft for my bill, so, it's always current.  Scam.
