caller ID shows Credit Control. No message left

Called, when answer it begins with automated message that call is being recorded.  Lady asked for someone by name, when I questioned what it was regarding--lady said "private business."  I asked again, same response "private business."  I hung up.  I called back, the male answered, saying the name of the company was "Credit Control"--they are a collections agency.  Don't know why they called me, but I blocked the number.

We've been getting phone calls from all kinds of collectors. Apparently the people who had this number before we did owed money.. Xfininty should not recycle phone numbers, because no matter how many times you tell the callers, that are not that person, they just don't believe you.. We have unplugged the phone, because the phone is in the bedroom and they call at ALL hours.. We will unbundle, get rid of the phone and just use our cell phones, because you can block numbers..

They keep calling 15 calls in 24 hours so I block then they get back on with the same number, this is my cellphone they refuse to say who they are just keep saying this is being recorded.  In Florida recording of phone calls is only ok if both parties agree, they still do it so I swear now and get nasty, morons, they won't even respond as to who they want to speak to.  Some say on here it's a debt collector and I have no bad debts, ridiculous I have filed a complaint with the Florida Attorney General suggest everyone who gets calls from these people do the same,

I get calls from this number and they tell me that the call is going to be recorded and they want me to confirm my identity with my SS, which I refused to give them. I don't answer toll free numbers anymore.

Thanks everyone for reporting what type of call this is. Now I can block them and not have to deal with them.

Apparently they have changed the name of the Company to Credit Control, I asked the individual to not call me anymore, he stated that I would have to give him my phone number so he could remove, I stated that if I was identified as the person he was looking for he should have all of that information.

They called my work never sent me anything to verify even tell me what it’s about, Now I just keep calling them and speaking Chinese and they get mad and hang up on me

I went through the same thing. I've never had a credit card either and now years later now their calling again for a spanish man and they refuse to listen

Constantly call me. Twice I’ve answered. First they get you on with someone who then transfers you. They say it is a “personal business matter” yet won’t tell me what it is until I give them info. First time they asked for my birthday second time they asked for the last four of my social. I refuse to give any info unless I know what it is for. I have a enough common sense to know not to give any info like that.

They said they will contact me by courier on October 21st and garnish my wages and put a lien on my house. They called my sister and my husband and gave me a lawyer’s name and a case number. My credit is excellent, I am retired, and I don’t owe any money.

They called but I just let the phone ring till they finally hung up...
