A message popped up on my computer saying my computer had been compromised, and to call Microsoft at this number to ensure detection, or they would lock my computer to prevent damage to their server. This is a Scam!!!

Pop-up ad tells you to call this number and talk to a Microsoft tech to assist you with removal of a virus or an adware. This is a Fake Spam, and they will charge you hundreds of dollars to fix your computer.

I received a pop-up ad on my computer along with an automated voice telling me that my computer was going to shut down because of a virus and spyware. I called the number provided, and the man who answered acted like a salesperson instead of free technical support, offering me all of these fixes to my very messed up computer for only hundreds of dollars. Do NOT fall into this trap. It is a SCAM.
