- Jane| 2 repliesJust received a letter with this phone number on it. Calls themselves Home Warranty Division, with no return address. Includes what looks like a check for $199 (they call it a Registration Fee Voucher) and the fine print at bottom says this is not a check. Letter says the information is for mortgagee (which means lender) and makes it sound like I am in violation with my lender regarding a home warranty. Lots of bold words FINAL NOTICE, CALL IMMEDIATELY. Also claiming their right to revoke my eligibility after 5 days. Tells me I am at risk of being financially liable for any and all repairs, if I do not reply immediately. (I already know I'm responsible, it's my house!) I've received several letters from these people, but none that came with a fake check, and suggested they were sending info to my mortgagee. The letter is postmarked out of St. Louis, MO, zip code 63026 presorted standard.

- Lou DemersRcvd in mail "FINAL NOTICE etc." as described by others. dtd Dec 20, 2022 record #354FH03716. Prior owner may have had a home warranty but I doubt it. "...financially responsible.... yadda yadda"
No call. No answer at # given. If they are running a caller-id I expect I'll get a tel call later. - HAD ENOUGHHome Warranty Division notice it's a Scam, the letter says "URGENT, FINAL NOTICE, IMMEDIATE RESPONSE " call 1888-404-4504
With a fake check inside the letter for $199.00, at the bottom in small prints it says "This is not a check"!

- just lizaReceived letter just as Jane described upthread. Sent to my late mother but to my home address. Mother lived and died in another state and has never lived at this address, never even visited this state. There doesn't seem to be any record of this phone number online anywhere, connecting it to a real live company with a return address. I hate junk mail almost as much as I hate junk phone calls.

- ElizabethOlder neighbor received this same letter. Since she has never been the primary home owner knew it was a scam. There is not a loan or warranty on her home. Where did they get her name to go with address?? Shame on them. They mistake old for being stupid!
- JRThe oddity to th letters received in the US Mail referencing 888-404-4504 is that the lender that they reference has been out of business for 8+ years
- DGM| 1 replySame experience as above. My friend who is 82 received this letter, which said this alleged home warranty is secured Wells Fargo Bank Home Warranty Division. I called the number, the young I spoke with gave his name as Jordan. I said there is no home warranty, he said old people tend to forget things, she has one but probably has just forgotten about it. This Jordan then accused me of misrepresenting myself as her power of attorney, said he would call my local police dept to press charges. I called Wells Fargo Cust Svc to 800-869-3557let them know someone of this caliber is misrepresenting himself as being one of theirs.

- PieCatLady replies to Annoyed personSame old number; same old scam. The letter isn't signed at all. Unknown person threatens to "revoke eligibility" if no response after five days but the "Respond By" date is many more days ahead of the date on the letter. The letter poses as if sent by "Main Street MTG." (They have our name, address, and former mortgage company - Main Street Bank), A home warranty isn't much good with deductibles, exclusions and demands for maintenance records, even when an identifiable company has an "okay - we pay" policy. So this shady scam letter goes straight into the trash can.
- Han replies to Annoyed personI got the letter after I purchase house. How do they know my mortgage provider and my husband’s name and address and phone number. Omg! Said I don’t have home warranty. I thought it was a serious letter from citizen bank where we got home loan. He wanted me to pay for 3 year home warranty for $1200 per year at the end of calculation but starting or activation is going to be $180 only. The guy on the phone is an old guy. How proud of himself to scam people at that age. What a loser and scammer.
- Michelle replies to Annoyed personI just got a letter and a "check" from Home Warranty Division. The 888-404-4504 number is listed on the letter. DEFINITELY A SCAM, as you said.
- Louise L replies to Annoyed personReceived scam letter 7-19_23
- Dorothy M replies to DGMI recieved the same letter and voucher. If you read the small print at the bottom of the voucher it say "We are not affiliated with your current mortgage holder" despite saying in the letter it is secured by Xxxxx Xxxxx. Total scam.
