888-404-9930

This number didn't actually call me, but it billed my credit card.  Found a charge on my VISA card for $49.95 that I didn't recognize from 888.404.9930.com.  I checked the website, it's only a one-page site.  I Googled the number and found a listing for a 24 hour locksmith service in Union, NJ and a couple other references to fraudulent $49.95 charges.  The website appeared to offer chat service, but after a chat window opens, you just sit there.  If you call the number, you get put on hold for a while, a complete "hold" experience with jazzy music in the background and an intermittent repetitive message saying "Your call is important to us.  Please stay on the line and the next operator will be with you shortly."  Finally, after a couple of minutes, another recorded voice in very strange sounding English to say that they are experiencing a larger volume of calls than normal and to call back later.  I called my credit card company and they are taking care of the charge.  I won't be responsible.  It seems to me that they are getting plenty of calls about this charge as they knew right away what was going on.  I have seen no other suspicious charges to my account going back a few months.  I check my statements often and this is the first ever suspicious charge I've ever gotten.

I got the $49.95 claim first from 888-368-0967.  My bank called them and got them to refund me.  Then I got one from this 404 number.  Another charge for $49.95.  Cancelled the card and wont be charged, but what a pain.

I also had a charge of $49.95 on my Visa Credit Card statement, in fact I had two in one billing period. Both were fraud. I contacted my credit card company immediately. If you see this charge on your credit card then you have been a victim of fraud.

You should also file complaints of fraud with the FTC, CFPB and stop fraud..

I received this number in an email stating it’s from Patriot Golf in the USA offering a free golf club plus extras if you phone the number 888-404-9930. I haven’t phoned and will just be deleting any further email offers like this. If it looks to good to be true it usually is to good to be true 😁
