A new twist on the Microsoft Scam.  "John", from a call center in India, tells me "you have a refund to you from the Microsoft because the company providing the services that work my computer is out of business one-two months in the past".  I told them I had not heard that Microsoft was out of business, and was told "no, no, it the company that provides you the service of you computer".  Our relationship went downhill from there.

The scam is probably phishing for my credit card info in order to "refund" my money.  Maybe I should have asked for cash.

Received same call, , said out of business, Microsoft wants to refund $299.00 . Lot of phones ringing  and voices in in the background, like when you call for computer issues. Demanded that I sit in front of my computer to download refund form. I said I’m not in front of my computer ,  I asked can you email me the charge invoice in question. Again demanded I get in front of my computer. I almost played along because I did purchase Microsoft “ Assure “ software support earlier this year !

Caller left a voicemail on my cellphone.  The initial part of it was not recorded, but the message indicated that I had a refund coming because the company was closing.  I was asked to call 888 407 5044 to arrange for the refund.  This is obviously another scam, as others have reported .
