- Shell| 1 replyWe’ve been trying to get a loan and they called my husband while i was at work. It was a man named Eric Foster. I’m sure that’s not his real name. They said he was approved for a $1,500 loan with $94/mo payments and all he needed to do was confirm his banking details. Three parts to this. He needed to provide them with his bank login information, they were going to send $400 to his account and then he needed to Zelle the money back to them. They also sent “loan documents” which had numerous spelling and grammatical errors.
My husband, bless his heart. Since we had been trying, none of this struck him as a red flag. So he did it. Eric told him that the money would hit the account within a few hours, the next morning at the latest. That was Wednesday. Today is Friday. Surprise, surprise. There’s no money.
The more i think about it, the more this screams “money laundering scam”. Moving money from bank account to bank account. Oddly enough, the account Eric had my husband Zelle the money to was under a female name. We haven’t been hit with any fraud charges. Yet. Key word. We’re on edge now. His social security number has been compromised, our banks are at risk. This whole thing is nasty.
If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is and NEVER give information to someone you never reached out to.- Caller: Radiance Finance LLC

- Shelly replies to ShellUpdating to this. Shortly after I made this post, I started looking into our accounts.
What “Eric Foster” did was just so smooth in terms of scams. Once he had access to our login information, he filed three separate claims against legitimate transactions we had recently made (one payment to Big Lots and two payments to our Internet Provider). These claims granted our account temporary credit. He then moved that temporary credit into our main bank account (the one that was to be used for the “loan”) to make it appear as if they had deposited that verification money as he had said needed to be done. That money was then transferred out of the account via Zelle.
That, though, was his fatal mistake. Zelle can be traced by the bank. So now we’re in the midst of a lengthy fraud investigation.
Please, please be careful. Use the mistake my husband made as a lesson. If it sounds too good to be true, then it usually is. And never...NEVER...give anyone your account login information. Doesn’t matter if they present you with loan documents. Doesn’t matter if they sound legit. If they want to verify your account, then they can do a 3-Way call with your banking institution to get the confirmation that this is your account. If they don’t want to speak to your bank, RUN.
