They are still breaking the DNC - the laws changed the 16th of Oct. 2013.

If the people do not want to be called from their service provider, then its pretty simple, tell them directly DNC, this means them and their affiliates they hire. Follow it up with it in writing sent registered mail, and always keep a copy for yourself as well.

I am not saying it is the correct thing to do, but that's how ATT wants to do it. As ar as the do not call list, there are a bunch of call centers in the states. ATT wants each call center to have their own do not call list.
Some of the things posted are funny. You guys are so paranoid.
ATN is in San Diego, CA. We are not given a choice, we sit in front of a computer and it auto dials for us. We have to call the numbers ( robo dialing )and follow a script ATT provides us.
That is why I quit ATN.

I'm glad you quit, but its no excuse for them robo dialing when the law changed.  No one is paranoid, just annoyed as the calls blow up peoples phones. If I wanted a new phone or a better plan, I'd be calling them. This is exactly why the DNC was made into law.  What makes them think if I tell one no, that 5 minutes later the same call from a different center is going to change my mind?  It won't, it just lost them any business.

It sounds as if ATT is trying to skirt the tcpa law as well on this issue.

They instruct us to promote the product, and we are explicitly told to read the script, cut off customers (if they ask for a vendor code) and always be selling.
When I was there I was cussed out all the time. Even if it was the first time calling, people get annoyed getting called 5 to 6 times a day. Why do they call so much? Because management tells us to set the disposition as call be back later today, or call tomorrow.  There are buttons like "not interested,  call back, do not call,  fax, has uverse." But we get in trouble for using those buttons.
I would always set the disposition as either not interested,  or do not call.

I also have to say that the employees (excluding management) are good people. They are just instructed to do bad things.
Sometimes management would push an order through without the federal tax I'D number verification. In my book, that is fraud. What do you think?

First off ,  an indian accent person called on supposedly ATT from this number.  He demanded I give them the numbers on the back of my modem in order to lower my bill.  I don't understand.  I just became a member with ATT and they are already giving out my personal and business information to scammer.  I told him that I don't trust foreigners and that I will call ATT myself to see if this is legit,  they then told me to go [***] my self.   WOW!

    Really?
Called multiples times, I have already declined AT&T's bundle offer twice, today is the third time.  Stop trying to squeeze every last penny out of your customers and act like you're doing them a favor.

Another "On Behalf of AT&T" Telemarketer. Called and asked to speak to person in charge of phone account.  I asked what company the caller was calling from.  ATN.  I told him we were satisfied with our AT&T service and didn't require upgrades at this time and to remove us from their calling list.  I'm sure they won't.  They haven't in the past.  It's a waste of my business time to take calls like this.

I have received several calls from these clowns!! and have hung up on everyone of them. They are very unprofessional to say the least. I called AT&T about another issue with our service and asked about these calls. They said that they are not doing anything wrong but they are not calling on behalf of AT&T and to not deal with them but to call AT&T direct. Once again these guys are clowns!!

I also have been getting calls from this number.  They are very persistent.  The first time they called, they were offering to provide me with the new fiber optic and combine my phone and internet bill for just $135 a month.  I told them "no thanks, I only pay $100 right now".  They called several times in between, wanting to talk directly to the doctor after that.  The final time, I told them that we didn't want their service.  The guy just kept talking over me.  I could barely get a word out.  I started to tell him to take my number off his list and he just hung up on me.  I called AT&T directly.  They confirmed that it is a Legit AT&T number.  I was given this number, (800)355-9542.  It is the number to the "Office of the President" at AT&T.  They said it would take 2 weeks, but they will put you on their "Do Not Call" list.  We will wait and see if this works.  So tired of these persistent nincompoops.
