I don't know more, but they sure call me a lot, I don't owe them anything. - Debt Defense Network| 3 repliesThis call is coming from Nebraska Student Loan Program, Inc. d.b.a. National Student Loan Program (NSLP). I advise each of you to log each and every call; including date, time, duration, to whom you spoke (if answered), etc...as much info as possible without identifying yourself or giving any information. Look up my name on facebook and I can teach you how log and collect evidence and prepare to sue this company to put some money in your pocket for their violations of the law.
I am waiting to hear back from their attorney now as I've sent them a Notice of Intent to Sue letter, but I'd love to help some other ASSERTIVE individuals to take action and make some money!

Jimmy - DonHarassing phone calls from someone who will not identify themselves without me first giving them "verifying information which, of course, I will NOT do!
Any idea who these JackWagons are?! - DonSorry! the number is, of course, 888-434-6548.
Thanx! - Jason| 2 repliesOk. Here's the deal. The National Student Loan Program is a guarantor of student loans. So yes they may be calling because you have a student loan or a PLUS loan for one of your kids and it could be that they have a wrong phone number if you don't have any. In either case, they are calling to help you. If you default on your student loan, whoever your loan is with... Sallie Mae, Nelnet, ACS or whoever will file a claim with National Student Loan Program requesting they pay off your loan. If National Student Loan Program pays off your loan you could see wage garnishments and income tax intercepts. Now you can easily verify who NSLP is by going to www.nslp.org or www.ed.gov. You can also go to www.nslds.gov to pull up a list of all of your student loans and you will more than likely notice that NSLP is a guarantor on some of your loans. Best of luck.

- Tori replies to Debt Defense NetworkI just got a call and it is 9:58 EST!! WTH??!!
- nora sheltoncalled every day this week -
- DavidYou may want to answer their calls... I ignored there calls for months. I didn't realize my student loans with Sallie Mae were so past due. Sallie Mae ended up selling my loan to NSLP and my wages were garnished. Then I was the one calling NSLP!!! Not to mention my income tax refund was intercepted....
My advice to you Nora... call them back. - JennThis number calls me none stop. They call and let the phone ring one time and hang up. If you call them back you get placed on hold I got tired of waiting after 15 mins
- Charles B replies to Debt Defense NetworkIf either you or someone you have co-signed for has a student loan, you may want to a least take this call. It could mean that the Student Loan may be going into default. Remember Student Loans can't be cleared by Bankruptcy and may effect Social Security Benefits.
- Nanci replies to Debt Defense NetworkIf you owe any monies on a student loan... that is why they are calling. I will look up your Facebook page,
I get 3-4 calls a week. - ChrisBeen getting called by this number for years. Comes in waves, this past week has been every day, even at 8am sharp. My father paid for my schooling (very grateful) and is in control of all the student loan stuff, he has verified everything is good with ACS, and yet they continue to call ME for some reason. I feel like I'm annoying my poor dad with the constant "Hey, umm, they called about the student loan again and they won't tell why."
When I answer, they immediately ask me to verify my social, home address, etc.. When I say that I'm not giving any personal information until they verify their own identity, and they simply refuse. They refuse to tell me anything more than "we're calling about an issue regarding a student loan". I asked them to send me something in the MAIL in writing, because clearly you have my home address, seeing how you wanted me to verify it, right? Nope, they won't do it. They won't even give you their name, it sounds SUPER shady and fraudulent. I absolutely refused to give them any information but still contacted my father to have him look into it. He says it's all straight....so.....I've been ignoring them ever since.
Next call I get though, I will answer and give them one final chance to un-f*** themselves and tell me what is going on, and if it goes as it usually does, I'm going to demand to be added to their do not call list. They call again after that, you bet your ass I'm taking further action because I'm clearly not the only person they pull this crap with.- Caller: NSLP

- Caroline R.I had been ignoring this phone number for a long time and I finally answered, and I'm not going to lie, I was p****d off and was pretty rude to the young lady who answered the phone. She was very vague on the information she gave me, except for saying they were calling about a federal education matter and then she wanted MY information!! I told her I wasnt going to do that, I didnt know who they were! She very calmly told me she understood but since it was an important matter she would continue to call so she gave me their website www.nslp.org/assistance and i looked them up and called back.... Good thing I did too because my loans were about to default! The lady was so nice and helped me get my loans back on track! Answer the phone people!

- nancycalled my cell phone and incurred voice time charges when i did not talk to them. their number is now blocked.
- SherillThis number calls everyday. When I would answer the call would be disconnected. Then one time a woman asked to speak to a Jan. I told her there wasn't anybody named Jan at this number and please remove my number from their calling list and advised her I was on the do not call list. I asked for her name and she hung up.
- jkI have received several calls from this number 888-434-6548 - they never leave a message. If it is in fact for a student load debt. I do not owe anything. Mine was paid off years ago to another agency and I received confirmation at the time. Did not think 10 years later I would still need it. I have tried to file a complaint with the FCC - waiting on a response from them. since a name does not show up on my caller id I am not sure if my complaint will be filed.
- jk replies to Jason| 1 replyI paid my student loan off more than 10 years ago - how do you get them off your back? Its been 10+ years, so no I do not have the info any more!!!!!

- ChrisThey keep calling calling calling!!!! I finally got pissed off and gave them my new home address and said "SEND ME SOMETHING, ANYTHING!", and I verified SEVERAL times that she got it right number for number, because she kept getting it wrong, to the point where I actually heard her duck away from the phone and say "f*ck something.." to someone else out of frustration because I was making her repeat it 10 times (oh, don't like it NSLP, do ya?). I told her send me something in writing and we will go from there. That was over 2 months ago, nothing in the mail. They started calling again and I answered, and explained to the lady about this and also explained up and down how I'm absolutely fed up with these calls, you are the ones continually dropping the ball, I have verified with all applicable agencies that my student loans are in fact good-to-go, I haven't been in school for over 10 years, you people never leave messages, you never send mail, you never verify any information, all you do is call me and start asking personal questions, and I even asked "How long has that business model been working for you, where you cold call people and immediately demand soc. security numbers and such? Don't you understand this screams SCAM to the people you are calling?" She had no good answer, but apologized, said she understands why I would be frustrated, and honestly sounded a little...I dunno....saddened?...but still had no potential solution to our problem. She gave up and said in a sad-puppy voice "Well, I'm very sorry sir and I hope we hear from you soon..." and I hung up without any closing. I'm absolutely FED THE **** UP with this, even if they are calling about something legitimate...FIGURE OUT A BETTER WAY TO GO ABOUT IT!!!!!! They just called again but as I was saying hello no one answered, so I hung up, but next time we talk, I'm directing them to this webpage and demanding they forward it to their superiors because someone needs to know this is so ridiculously handled. Either someone is not doing their job OR there is a scandal at play here, because seriously, look at all these comments....I'm clearly not alone. The company can be totally legit, but all it takes is a couple employees to cook up some kind of way to scheme the company or it's customers and bam, you have things like the Target CC info "leak".
Serious NSLP, I think it's time for an internal investigation. READ THESE COMMENTS.- Caller: NSLP
