It may be "a legit bofa number" but that doesn't mean all calls from it are actually from them. Scammers frequently spoof legitimate phone numbers.

ITS A LEGIT BOFA NUMBER AS OF 11/21/2024. But ALWAYS CALL BofA first to confirm and then call back yourself.

It's a legit number. How do I know? I called them in response to an email about a problem I already knew about, giving me this number. I called and they made me wait an hour on hold until a representative was free. No scammer would do that to a mark. As others have noted, that doesn't mean that a call coming in FROM this number is legit.
