Scam Call - Caller left message.  Claims he is Officer Brown from IRS and claims a lawsuit has been filed and a warrant issued for my arrest and asks to call back 888-438-7511 for more information.    I hope people do not fall for this!

I just received the same voicemail as Kathy.

The Internal Revenue Service, (IRS) NEVER MAKE A PHONE CALL!!!! .

Thanks for posting!   I got this too but I thought it might be fraud.  I was glad to get it confirmed so quickly.

Got a voicemail from "Officer Brown" from "internal revenue services" informing me of a lawsuit against me.

Clearly a malicious phishing scheme but a little unnerving.

Got the now becoming famous 'Officer James Brown IRS' lawsuit scam message this afternoon. I FEEL GOOD!
Funny, it came on a work cell # unrelated to any personal information. Obvious phishing scam.

He's not living in America, either, but an Indian crook James Brown I'm sure.

888-438-7511 Is a serious scam, I wish the IRS would monitor these calls and allow people to report these phone calls and shut them down before innocent people and the elderly who are easily swayed become victimized.  DO NOT FALL FOR THIS, when in doubt call the IRS at there regular posted number on there website

You can report these calls to the IRS and they do take action, see below:

It is a scam.

The IRS does not initiate contact via a phone call, they first send postal letters.
The IRS does not threaten arrest.
The IRS does not demand immediate payment over the phone.
The IRS does not ask for Credit card, Debit card, iTunes card, or prepaid money card information, at all.

It is a scam ran by offshore criminals attempting to trick you into sending them money.

The number that called me was 315-765-0062
