What do those names have to do with this call?   Who is Orion Capital?  The only one that I can find does not issue loans.

Got the call like everyone else, it's from a collection agency looking for my ex daughter in law. She's not paying her bills again I guess. They were trying to verify her phone and address. Of course I helped them

So you aided and abetted criminals in the commission of a crime?  I hope when those crooks get arrested they take you in as well.  Oh, and most likely if she can't pay her bills its because your deadbeat son isn't sending the support/alimony checks like the court ordered him to.

Called my wife demanding my location.I know this has been reported as a scam.Someone needs to put a stop to this, please.

They won’t tell you what they are calling for or the name of the company . Want you to tell them your info , one man was super rude and talked over me .  Andrew coffee he should be fired . I talked to Maggie and she took care of my account and told me what it was about and it’s a debit collector . I have a debit I’ll pay it to someone like Maggie . Not a disrespectful male who talks and yells at women clients . Way to get things done . Fire him and more people will work with you guys .

Called this # and they would only say their company name is Orion Capital Group. Who are they?

Number on caller ID was 916-307-6393 lady called saying she has paperwork for me and wants me to call her back with my address. But, Her voicemail said to call 888-441-7563**** SCAM

I got this same message. Omg.... thank you for posting this. I was so nervous.

Called me from 716-62-7941, left voice mail: "Hi my name is Amanda. I'm actually reaching out hoping to obtain or confirm location information pertaining to _ _. I was hoping that you would either be able to provide or confirm locatin information for _. If there is any way that you could return a call to my office regarding this matter that would be greatly appreciated. My number here is 888-441-7563 ext 125". This call was immediately followed by a call from 314-305-9250. Well, I've lived in the same place for 4+ years and had the same phone number even longer, so if you can't located me, that's your problem, not mine, Scammer! ;)

A Tara from this number 1-888-441-7563 called me today and said “ it’s imperative that You call me back”. She didn’t leave a company name or exact reason for the call, which I thought was weird and made me further investigate, and I’m glad I did because I see other people experienced this same thing... definitely a scam!!

Same as all others looking my husband or my son they have the same name. But will not say who they are. But with Me he gave me his name? Jason Sutherland.

Received the following message from 202.664.8911:
“Hi good morning my name is Tara I am calling you today because my office recently sent a notification to your mailing address in regards to some paperwork that we have here. As of today we have not heard back from you and so I'm following up with you now because my office had sent the notification that was time sensitive and recommendations need to be made regarding the situation so give me a call back today my phone number is 888-441-7563 and will be here until 6 PM Eastern thank you…”

I have never received anything from them, especially nothing “time sensitive.” If it was legit, they would leave detailed information about the “situation.”

In other words, their little Good 'n' Bad Cop act did its job of distracting you from Orion's systemic practice of FDCPA violations, evident throughout this thread. See through this drama and more people will defend their rights and avoid "working with" lawbreakers.

To the contrary, Orion is cagey enough to remain vague in a phone message, trying not to trigger an easy lawsuit for accidental disclosure to the wrong persons. It's very common for dirty collectors to break all the other parts of the FDCPA yet tiptoe around this one issue, also known as a "Foti violation" after an industry-changing court case. I've long argued that the law's secrecy mandate helps the worst collectors generate fear, their favorite weapon.

I won't doubt that Orion has neglected to dun you properly. Claiming otherwise, and implying faintly that your silence will get you sued, is part of the fearmongering, another shopworn tactic among the debt extortionists.

You will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

Got a call stating they are looking for the location of my sister due to discrepancies on an application she submitted and I asked for what company and the guy got all rude.

Theae people called my mother asking for info about my sister on the message machine asking to call melinda back at the 888 number provided on here
