- Dexter EI reeceived an Alert posting that locked up my computer, noting that I had a serious (Adware) problem. It was a 3-times repeated (continuous) message stating that I should not turn off computer or take any other action than to call the above number. They claimed to be a Microsoft certified company. They gave a callback number for further assistance. They gave estimated service costs. They tied my computer up for about six hours. Computer seemed to work somewhat better than it was before the "service." A payment card was used and my statement was debited. The notation of payment noted another phone number. All phone numbers were non-identifiable, claiming to be located in Delray, FL. I was scammed!

- BrendaMy screen popped up a message saying my computer was in bad trouble and to call the 8884469992 number and to not shut down or try to do anything or everything would be lost. I called and bottom line they wanted me to pay $299. When I said I couldn't afford that it went to $279. And then down to $159. That's when I started thinking SCAM. When I said no to the payment the guy told me to just throw my computer away. Then he got mad and was scolding me. I hung up and rebooted and my computer seems fine now. Watch out everybody.
