Threatening call stating that "this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid an initial appearance before a magistrate judge or grand jury for a federal criminal offense this is the final attempt to reach you..."

Received a recorded message left on my phone answering system from these delightful folks. A pleasant sounding lady informed me that I had a civil complaint filed against me, and that I would need to call back immediately to speak with my case worker or they would proceed with due process. Since they gave no information as to a specific case number or what the complaint was, or who had filed the complaint, I had to assume this was something similar to the annual IRS calls we get from India telling us we owe over $2,000 for back taxes and to wire them the money right away to avoid arrest. Same circus, different clowns.

A pleasant sounding lady informed me that I had a civil complaint filed against me, and that I would need to call back immediately to speak with my case worker or they would proceed with due process and reference the phone number they called.  They funny thing is the number is registered to my employer.

I have received numerous calls in the past few days identical to those detailed above.  The message is not addressed to a specific person or any details given about the "civil complaint filed against" me.  The first calls referenced mail contact attempts which don't exist, so there is no reason to attach any credibility to these messages whatsoever.

It is a good thing that scammers like this are too stupid to realize that if a person is expected to appear before a Judge or Grand Jury they would not be informed about it by telephone call.

Just got a call from this number. I didn't answer and the voicemail left is from a lady who sounds nice, stating that a lawsuit will be filed with or without my cooperation. They also called my Mom and brother-in-law.  They didn't leave a name or company they work for. The number that called my brother-in-law was different, but was reported as a scam number.

They’ve called a few times, it’s always a recoding. I finally hit one to be connected. The man who eventually came on the line said “snoggle & lawson” (not sure of the first name but it’s what it sounded like). Asked what he could do for me. I firmly said, “Well, you called me, so YOU tell me!”
In a disgusted, impatient & unfriendly tone he said “Just a minute, let me look up your case.” Then asked for someone I know nothing about. He said he’d remove me. Before he hung up, I told him I needed his name so I could write it down in case they called again. He only said, “This is lawson.” & hung up.
