Got a call from these people at 11:44pm EST, 28 June 2011. Looking for my EX husband. I hung up on the call because I am NOT him, but I am going to see how to use the "call blocking" option on my phone line to stop these calls.  My number is unlisted, but they got hold of it anyway!

I got a call from Schachter Portnoy, a law office in Princeton, NJ this morning myself. I was familiar with them because they are a trustee for St. Barnabas Health Care. I did owe one of their hospital the rest of their money from 2 separate visits during 2011. I paid the law office in 4 payments, the last which were in May 2013. I'm not totally sure why they called today. I do have a bigger medical debit from the hospital to pay off, as far as I knew it hadn't gone to this law office.

Anyhow for everyone if you have a withstanding medical debt from a hospital, they are a legitimate (even know who does like law firms in general) office with a reason to call.

If they are looking for someone you did know, you aren't responsible for their debt, why not just talk to them and hopefully that will be it. I know it isn't always that simple from their end.

They put message on my computer that is locked up and to call this number which they said  was Microsoft  which is a lie as they Microsoft don't call me as I have called them many times. I cannot get the darn message off my computer page.

Most popups are generated from an Ad on an unsuspecting website and can be removed by clearing the Cache and History, then restarting the Browser with an Ad Blocker turned on. If your Browser doesn't have one built-in, you might look to see it it supports a Browser Extension Ad Blocker.
You might have a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) that triggers a popup window, if you have closed the Browser after clearing the Cache / History and it still pops up, then you might try this site to help remove the PUP:
