Called and asked if our phone number was the one connected to our home computers. My husband hung up right away, turned off all our home computers and devices for a few minutes, and then called the number back. No answer.

My fone blocks calls from numbers not on contact list, and they go to voice mail. Didn't leave message, but the calls show up as "unsaved number."

This number was printed on a sticker that was on the front of a Citibank Prepaid card, with a note saying you had to call to activate the card before using. I called and got a survey, then a message telling me I won a free cruise. When I declined, they hung up and there was never an option to activate the card. I reported this to Citibank and they  claimed to know nothing about it, and said the card was already activated. Obvious scam.

I recently got a refund from Pep Boys - they sent me a Citibank debit card with a few $$ on it.  This number isn't the one on the card to activate it.  And it came to my cell phone - which almost nobody has the number.   It came when my phone wasn't on.  .  PS: The card s good.

This number was on a City Bank prepaid card.  Called number.  Activated it.  Used it that day to save $32.

This number, 888-471-3662, is the number I needed to call to activate my pre-paid VISA Debit card for an amount of a refund from when I cancelled my DirecTV service. This is how they refund you the money if they wind up owing you. I called and the automated system walked me through, I was given a PIN number to use as well and had to hold on a second for the activation for me to use my debit card went through. there was no scam, no cruise, so survey - ONLY my activation instructions and PIN number and a choice to hear my PIN again along with more information on how to use the card at gas stations and restaurants, etc.. STOP being so asinine about this number. There is NO WAY this business is scamming people as some are claiming. Perhaps you've dialed a similar number or have received a call from a similar number. NOTE: the number is *888* - NOT 800. Call it right now - 888-471-3662 - and you will also reach "Card Services" which is Citicard, you goofballs. The call is a VERIFICATION OF YOUR CARD NUMBER.

This number was on the refund Master Card debit card I received from AT&T after closing my account. I used it to successfully activate the card. KAS

This number was listed on a sticker for a prepaid debit card given out by TDS (internet provider). I called the number to activate the card and got a scam about elderly health monitors. First they asked you to press 1 if you are over the age of 50 or press 2 if you are under. They asked me things like "Can you hear me". When I refused to give a yes or no answer, they continued to try to ask only yes or no questions. It sounded like a realitic computer activated voice. Finally, after refusing the speak the words they clearly wanted, the line disconnected.

I called TDS the next business day and discussed this with then. They confirmed the card as legit but gave me a totally different number to activate the card.

My guess would be that you dialed a number one off from this one.
