- cahillCalled and said "This is a call with information on important business possibility"
Then placed on hold forever. - AHave 5 missed calls this morning from 888-472-4950. No messages yet. I'm not calling back if I get a message though, because that might be a scam to see what numbers are responding as a way to track valid cell numbers. I also put my cell number on a national registry list to keep this from happening, so how are they getting our numbers? Really annoying.
- MollyI got a call from these people too!! When I picked up it put me on hold forever and no one ever answered, it gave me an ID to use when I call back. When I did call back it said service unavailable. It always says that.
- CarmenThey call me EVERYDAY, EVERY HOUR ON THE HOUR on my cell phone!! This must stop it is driving me nuts, and when i try to call back it is unavailable!! Someone has to make them stop!!!!
- SteveI recommend everyone receiving these calls file a complaint with the FCC at:
http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html
Especially if you are on the Do Not Call registry. - Dawn replies to JulieI am getting calls from this number a few times a week for someone else! I held on to tell them that they have the wrong number and to please take me off of the list but the lady that picked up the phone was a rude nasty B****!! I tried to call back to speak to a supervisor but the number is unavailable!! What is the deal here!! How can I get in touch with these people??
- evelynReceived call from this # it is a recording tried to call back message says they are unavailable.
- BeckyAre all of you Verizon customers? I'm having all the same problems with this number that you report. A similar thing happened to me a month or so ago - I was receiving calls from an 800 number, but there was a hang-up whenever I answered the phone. However, when I called the number, I was directed to a Verizon representative. It seems to me that this could be a sneaky tactic Verizon (or phone companies) is using so people waste their cellphone minutes...
- DebThis is a collection agency. He said the name of the company too fast.It was for a relative who no longer resides here, but that doesn't stop the calls. He said to have the person call back 1-800-334-0626.

- Call type: Debt collector
- catdrThis number has been calling my 12 year old son's cell phone, every couple of weeks. I answered one time and they wanted info on someone else. I informed them they had the wrong number. The lady I spoke with was a extremely rude!! Accused me if misleading her. Sounded like a bill collector or a scam to get personal info.
- DebThese calls have been going on since summer.A few times a day. They are a collection agency. The person that they want doesn't live here anymore, but they will not listen.I said I would report them to the State attorney general but I was told to go ahead and report them to anyone I want because they intend to keep calling daily.
The woman was VERY hostile and snotty, even though I was polite and calm. She ended the call with her threats and a bye,bye,click.- Caller: Unknown

- TC| 1 replyBeen calling me several days a week, several times each day. They never leave a message, & I refuse to answer it. Anyone know who they are & how to make them stop?
- Steve replies to TCI just did some followup investigation on this issue by calling (800)334-0636. It turns out that the calls are automatically made by a company for a company called "NCO Financial" and they are trying to collect on balances owed from hospital visits/copays/etc. and other types of bills. Apparently they also send out written correspondence too. I spoke with one woman at this number named "Mrs. Ferguson" the first time I called and she was extremely rude and unhelpful. I called back and spoke with a "Christine" who was more helpful and provided the above information. I asked that my phone number be taken off their list and she said it would. We'll see what happens. Anyway, I hope the above information adds a bit more insight as to who they are and why they are calling.
- Track Them Down & Kill ThemThe call every day (except holidays), usually in the morning asking for "Tania Vela." They are willing to be put on hold "while I go get her" (as part of the voice menu options).
I finally picked up to tell the caller that there is no "Tania Vela" at this number. They insisted that "Tania Vela" gave them this number and when I asked who they were, they hung up.
This is on my cell phone, so I'm going to have to ask Verizon Wireless to intercede on my behalf.
In the meantime, I've added my cell number to the National Do Not Call Registry. - Maddie ClarkI read on another website that this may be a medical bill collector.
- jacksaying i owed $400 in medical bills.
- Caller: claiming to be beth israel collections
- Call type: Debt collector
- DianaI've been getting these calls for the previous cell phone number's owner for over a year, eating up my minutes. I reported the number to the FCC on Christmas, and I'm on a do not call list, and nothing has been solved, as the calls still keep coming. One identity to 1 (888)472-4950 is Adirondack Medical Billing, at 762 State Route 3# Plattsburgh, NY. I believe that this is a generic collection agency number making automatic calls for an assortment of businesses. I also wish that Congress or the FCC would make this organization refund all of the money to every single one of us, who have endured this harassment for so long. I'll start holding my breath now.
- Caller: Adirondack Medical Billing

- Swansong| 1 replySeveral weeks now getting call from this number. One time, I actually got a person and asked her to remove my number. She hung up. Calls continue on my cell phone only.....taking up valuable air time. I will not answer calls any longer. Very frustrating.
- ScottThe recorded message puts you on hold, then asks you to push certain verification buttons. I only listened once and pressed no buttons, since I worried it was someone trying to hack into my phone and use my number. I dunno what it is, but it's annoying as hell and I don't have a "block number" on my cell phone.
- Swansong replies to SwansongStill receiving calls from this number after writing to Adirondack Medical Billing and Information Services (as outlined in a message from another source on this site). I threatened a lawsuit and CC'd states attorney general office as well as the BBB and Chamber of Commerce in Plattsburg, NY. Received letter from Medical Billing Company indicating they have no knowledge of the number they are "supposedly" calling and the person they are trying to reach. They also, indirectly, threatened me with a lawsuit should I write another letter. I continue to receive daily calls and I record all of them but do not answer. Hopefully, someday they will discontinue calling me. The only answer I have is that after I visited a medical facility for a second opinion on my cancer issues, that's when the calls began. My number just ended up on someone elses records which invokes a HIIPA violation should I ever be able to prove it.
