I received a call today from "unavailable 000-000-0000," so I didn't pick up.  I did listen to the message directly though.  It was from a woman, Marie Millon/Milan from Davis and Clark Law Offices.  They are calling for Deborah W----- Clifton.  They left me a case number starting US###### and said something about bad checks and serving her at her home or place of business.  

I called back to let them know they had the wrong number and was even transferred back and forth a few times.  BUT when I called back 30 minutes later to double check what county database had given them my number I was unable to reach them and indeed did reach a very ticked off black woman, J Jackson.  

I don't get it; and I don't trust it.   I finally spoke to the police was told it sounded like a scam.  Be careful and vigiliant.

I have been getting harassed by this bill collector from Davis and Clark Law Offices as well.  It is good to know that it isn't legit.

Aug.5,2011   I got a call left on my voice mail saying I was served for bad checks. She said, she wanted to meet with me somewhere besides my home or job.I called the number she left and got a answering machine stating her name as Vicki. I knew something was screwy ,I have not had a checking account in years. The number I was given was 888-472-6509. My caller ID registered as unknown caller & number. I called the police because she said I wrote her bad checks, then said I could call the above number to speak to the plaintiff. She went on to say since she did not reach me that she would be forced to serve documents. Then she ended the call with " you have been summoned."

Did this person say her name was Vicki? The person who left my message was also black.

The police also told me it sounded like a scam. They told me to let them no if she contacts me again and to call if she or someone representing this matter shows up at my home or job.

I also received a message from this telephone number from a women who did not leave her name stating that a civil complaint is being filed against me, in Collin County (where I use to live at one time).  She says that she left a message underlining the importance of the situation and that my immediate attention is required.   Umm,  the attorneys here at Davis and Clark are pushing for a final decision from myself as primary mediator of your case.  In order to avoid a default judgement and a summons being issued for you to appear in court.  Return my call so we can resolve this voluntarily .  The number is 888-472-6509 extension 307 and your case number is XXXXXX.  Be advised that the number I have included directs you to a Federally recorded line which may be used by your local court as prove of my attempt to contact and assist you.  If you fail to contact me in order to resolve this, it too may be seen as an admittance of malicious attempt in this case.  She says my name and states that this is my second notification, thank you and good luck.  She also left the same message at my home, never giving her name.  This is the first time I've ever received a call from this (no number) on my cell, and (no number) on my land line.  It just sounded extremely fake!

did someone ever show up to serve anything? I just got the same call and I don't know what it is for

This morning I received a call this morning and it said Unknown, so I didn't answer. They left a voice message  "this is Mark Kessler, this is the final opportunity he can give me to see if I'm dispruting the charges, crossing the state line and this is the final offer, to give them a call back for a statement at 888-472-6509" I have no clue what this is about. So I called back & this so called person wasn't available. I find this very odd & believe it's some type of scam.

So is this a scam or what? Those people at that number are so Rude and for me it seems like they really are a scam.

Got a call from this number last week and it came up as "Unknown" on my caller ID.  They left a message saying it was a Anthony Sharp and I was a person of interest in this ongoing investigation.  I called and spoke with this man and he said he was looking for my daughter but never told me for what.  I thought it concerned something else that my daughter was involved in so I called her and gave her the number and apparent case #.  I was not going to give this man any information concerning my daughter's phone number or whereabouts. She informed me it was a scam and even Googled the number as we spoke and read out some of these complaints.

I got a call this morning at my job from someone names Jason Brown stating that he will be serving me papers within an hour unless I call Davis & Clark office to get the matter settle. He left the 1-888-472-6509,but before I could call I got another call on my cell which was 0000000000 they left a message stating the same thing. The person said I should call back and ask for Myron Cummings at ext 428.

I got a similar message. It was to call Myron Cummings also. He left a recording on my cell phone, work phone that he needed to serve papers. Before I could call him back he sent some thug to my husband's work looking for me!!! My husband had nothing to do with the pd loan I took out. It is scary to think these guys would go to such lengths. I landed up calling Davis and Clark to set up payment arrangements because this did show up on my credit.

The funny thing is that if they were looking for me I was home all day and nobody showed up at my house!! I've been served with papers before for a credit card charge off and they came to the house, were nice and the papers were legit. Nothing shotty like this episode!!

I just received a call from Ms. Marshall with this company, she stated that I owed an amount for a payday loan that my ex and I took out in 2008 and it was not paid back.  Advised her that I had no problem paying what I owe but would have to do it in monthly installments, she placed me on hold so she could speak to the attorney and came back and said that I could make the payment in two payments.  I told her I could not make the payment in two payments she said that they would summons me and file on me for banking fraud and theft of service and put a lien on my vehicle.  I asked her to send me this information in writing and went to give her my post office box address she said she had my address, the address she had was of a house that I sold in 2009.  She refused to take my post box number stating that she had to have a physical address to have me served and hung up on me.  I called her back and told her she could have me served at the local sheriffs department, she placed me on hold again and I searched for Davis and Clark 888-472-6509 online and came across this website and the website for the FBI advising that this is an extortion scam, as I was on hold I was speaking to my co-workers about what I had found and Ms Marshal got back on the phone and started yelling at me.  I placed her on speaker phone so my co-workers could her the way she was speaking to me, I tried again to give her an address and she was still yelling at me, so I told her to find me and serve me with the papers.  I went to our Sheriffs office and they advised this was the third complaint they have received on this company this week.  I called the sheriffs office in the town I lived in in 2009 and they advised they had no paperwork to serve me with, they also advised that this is a scam.  I called the BBB and they said that this Davis and Clark just opened a file with them on September 12, 2011....last week!   Again, I did ask for a mailing address to mail a payment to them and Ms Marshal said she was sure I already had her address and refused to give it to me.

Do not respond to this number. Do not provide any critical information that this caller may be looking for. Ms. Marshall is a fake, and this "law firm" is just trying to make a quick buck. Be advised people.

I got a call from 888-472-6509. Saying i owe money on a a 300 hundred dollar loan i took out like 4 years ago. The info there telling me sounds correct but they all they say is there going to send me to court for check frad if i dont give them my info  and set up an payment account and give them my bank account information. They donot sound legit at all. But I dont know. I asked them to send me some paper work in the mail and the dont seem to want to. What do you think? Scam?
