Didn't get a call. Received the crappy little, printed-by-an-inkjet-printer, birthday greeting with implied, but not promised, free tickets for "a US Airline".

Red flags:

1) Cheap, crappy paper.
2) "We've been going crazy trying to contact you".  Uh, huh.
3) "in celebration of your birthday"--no promotion, no contest.
4) Reminded me of something from "Buffy"...."Gee, could you vague that up for me?"
6) Had an odor about it.

General rule: "If it seems too good to be true..." Well, you all know the rest. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

Just received the letter got excited, thanks for warning us

I got the same Birthday email, " in celebration of your birthday, your were verified and as a result of this offer your name and Ticketing Number have been Issued!  You will receive Two Roundtrip Airfairs Within the Continental U.S.!

Of couse I think it's a scam, and won't call, but I wanted to know what it was all about.

Received a tear apart at the seams card in the mail from Thrifty claiming that "You are a winner" Right.  Never rented from Thrifty as their prices were NEVER anything but.  Never entered any contests -Call me jaded and suspicious - :)  Tore up and threw out!!!!

They appear to have moved on to using 1-888--683-2532.

Just got the card saying I won trip for two to Las Vegas.  Posts opened my eyes and confirmed...if it sicks like spam, it is SPAM!!!

I got the same postcard, but didn't even get the Happy birthday wish!

Same here, but I think can shed some light. We recently refinanced our home through Wells Fargo. We got a very low rate due to some government program. Since I never use my full name for anything else, when this piece of crap showed up with my legal name on it, I knew it came from one of two source. Either Wells Fargo or the UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT! I suspect it was the latter! Do any of you think we can trust the feds anymore?

So those of you who wonder why the government doesn't do anything about it, could it be that the US GOVERNMENT is behind it? Wouldn't be a bit surprised that now that it is legal for the feds to collect info from us by any means available, they are SELLING it.

Remember folks you heard it her first. Reason why these calls don't stop is because the government is behind it.
