Getting unsolicited texts saying to call 888-493-3896 to "claim" my WalMart $100 gift card. Right.

did any of you use tax act? i got this message immediately after filing with tax act and submitting my cell # for notification of my filing....not sure if it is related??

Received one unsolicited text: Special thank you for our registered useds, Please call 888-493-3896 to claim your $100.00 Wal-Mart Gift Voucher. The call on ID was 916-233-9056.

I got the same message. Not calling!

After buying from walmart online received same text as above. BTW, My credit card company refused an online purchase from walmart but once I called to see what the issue was they said they refuse all online credit card use for walmart as well as home depot unless card user gives permission for each purchase. Said there is much fraud. So beware. I am grateful for my cc company's diligence.

Same here, got a text from a random number telling me to call this 888 number for my $100 Walmart gift card.

Telemarketer, magazine sales.  Get reward card only if you buy magazines.  I stopped there, but there were probably more sales to do before you get to reward, if ever.

I just got the same thing, a text to call to claim $250.00 Wal-Mart card-not calling!!
