I got the same thing. Said he was calling in regard to a civil complaint but won't give any additional information.

DO NOT PAY THEM. THEY ARE A SCAM. RECORD THE CALLS AND CONTACT YOUR ATTORNEY GENERAL TO FILE A COMPLAINT IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT LET THEM SCARE YOU INTO PAYING ANYTHING.

I too received a call and thought it was a joke, until the [***] showed up at my job with paperwork. I'm sick of going to court and dealing with this foolishness!! Because I live in a "NON-GARNISHMENT" State I thought there was nothing they could do to me. Later I found out it was a valid debt and it simply slipped through the cracks due to a company changing names. I simply told the judge that I was doing the best I could with my debts and asked for a payment plan. I did get one but t was a lot more than what they offered me on the phone! I hope your case turns out better than mine!!

I received 2 calls from this number...the first one I didnt return due to being sick with the flu (last week). I got the other call this morning stating they were filing a civil complaint against me on be half of Check n Go...I supposedly went into one of their stores and requested a loan. Mind you the closet one to me is 65 miles away. I contacted the company (the phone number) he gave me information, but couldnt give me an address of the Check n Go I was to have gone into. He also went as far as to say to me yea well sometimes things slip your mind...uuhhmm buddy I would have definitely remembered that one and no I did not get a loan from Check n Go. The 3 Check n Go's that are supposedly closer to my house (not that close) are nonexistant, the phone numbers are not working numbers. I contacted Check n Go they of course couldnt find any information with my name on and I was given another number by the company they do actually deal with for collections, they couldnt find anything either. The state I live in does not allow check cashing places like Check n Go to operate in the state. So now I need to know what to do about this. The collection company for Check n Go isnt this company and I was informed by the employee to contact the better business bureau. I think I will do just that. How are these companies allowed to even be in business and prey on innocent people???

these jerks called me early in march to tell me they were filing charges of malicious intent to defraud a financial institution and bank fraud, and that someone would be coming to my place of employment to serve me with papers to appear. the man identified himself as thomas crown of Harris and Associates. he flat out refused to validate this dabt in any way, and that the only mail i would recieve on this matter would be a paid in full reciept after it was paid off.

i called back a week later for an address and was flat out told they did not recieve certified mail.
i was able to get an addy from an email i asked them to send, hoping maybe i could use that in some way, idk. i dont have much experience in this area. the address is as follows:

request for validation through certified mail proved this to be a false address, it does not exist.
they called back last week threatening me again with the legal action within 24 hours, again threatening to do it at my work. no one showed. this guy identified himself as Dan Powers, kept referring to me as a female and got the creditor wrong. he left the following #:
888 418 7405.

they have changed their name to united check processing and are using area codes from your state they are still a scam don't pay they will make you think they are real

He called me, at six am telling me that his a police officer asking about money i need to sent them to pay for the past due bill, i got scammed befire and i know what to do now is just go with the flow n later just ignored everything, people aint got [***] to do anymore cause they are trying to feed on innocent people who aint got nothing....SCAMMERS SCAMMERS SCAMMERS SCAMMERS
