I receieve a call from this company as well.. the number that came up on my caller id was 4354148367. They said that they were Omega Mediation Services.. they only gave me the name after calling them back 5 times after getting hung up on. They said that I had a complaint filed with Chase bank, whom I've never banked with. The first time they called me was a few moths back so I called Chase bank and filed a complaint with them. This time when they called me back I told them that I checked with Chase bank and filed a complaint with them and then all of a sudden the last lady I spoke with told me that she will take my phone number off their records haha. It's a scam!

Tommy Thompson from Omega said I owed 432.00 and would be taken to court if I didn't pay immediately.  He said he would send a docu-sign and I wouldn't be served papers suing me.

My first call was from a Miss Bailey.  I never was able to speak with her but she claimed that her call was my "official notification."  That was the first clue since a phone message is not an official notification of anything.  Second message from her claimed that the case was going to be processed that same day.  When I called, I got Tommy Thompson who contradicted the message from Miss Bailey and then hung up when I challenged him and told him that I had Miss Bailey's messages saved on my message machine.  I never did get complete information from him.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

SCAM ALERT! I was contacted by a lady from 336-265-1036, a Greensboro, NC phone number. When I returned the phone call to an 844-704-8332, the lady informed me that there was a "case" pending and a complaint against my SSN for nearly $1000.00 concerning my Express/Structure credit card account. I closed and paid off that account two years ago. I spoke with a lady named "Miss Judith" and she told me to confirm or deny this so she could send it on to the correct department. She called out my SSN and phone number and the complaint and told me I could call her back at 888-502-3717 ext. 408. So, I called the bank that issued the Express card, Comenity Bank out of Columbus, OH. They conformed that my account was no longer in their system and will research to produce a copy of the letter I have stating the card is settled and closed. When I called "Ms. Judith" back, she was not as willing to talk to me and ultimately told me she was not obligated to speak to me further and would not be giving me the name of the company or any further information and hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak to a manager to complain about her behavior and someone put me through to a voicemail. That "receptionist did give me the name and address of the company: "OMEGA MEDIATIONS SERVICE" out of RockHill, SC.  I called right back and Ms. Judith answered again. She told me she was not going to be going back and forth with me and she then stopped talking and put me on mute. I researched the company online and found many different phone numbers and others stating similar stories to mine. Their website is very simple and provides the address and yet another number, (888) 813-6630 that, when called, redirects to the same voicemail I was transferred to when I asked to speak with the manager.
