I have just purchased a Dodge and have been receiving these calls ever since.  I have not answered but thought I'd google and this is what I have found.  This does not make me happy. How much other information of mine is out there and what do I do now? Stop answering my phone? This is not right and I sure hope this helps to get something done!!

I just bought a new toyota and I am getting calls by this number as well...3times yesterday, only had the car two days.  I am also on the do not call lists..I went to the dealer and raised hell about my personal information of course they played ignorant.

I just received a call from this number 888.502.7225 for the first time on my cell phone. I do not answer the phone when it's a number I do not recognize as I too am on the DO NOT CALL list. I tried to call this number back from a landline phone and it says that all circuts are busy. I too have recently contacted a car dealership in Houston in regards to a new vehicle. I think it is very unfair and wrong that our personal information is somehow being "provided" to scam type callers such as this. It makes me very leary of doing business over the internet if this is what we have to look forward to.

I have gotten 2 calls today from this number, along with 2 others from car dealers yesterday.  I haven't given this number to any car dealers.  However, I was recently in a wreck and the at fault driver's insurance company totaled my car.  Could the insurance company or the accident report be the source of these calls?  Has anyone gotten text messages from this number (I have to pay for those)?

Had Toyota serviced on Thursday July 26, 2007 and started receiving these same phone calls on Monday July 30th, at least once to twice a day so far. I haven't answered and do not intend to answer. For those of you who have answered, do the calls stop after you answer? This is really annoying. Maybe I will call the dealership and tell them if they are going to sell or give out my information then I will find someone else to do business with. I guess if these people got my cell number, they have my name, address, home phone, vehicle information etc...not cool

I too have been shopping for cars, and I keep getting calls from this number, I haven't picked it up, but next time I will to tell them to leave me alone.   How annoying!!!!

I called the number back and got a recording that said it was "regarding my recent visit to the dealership".  I wish I knew which dealership as I have visited quite a few in the last few days, so that I could call and yell at them.  

I visited two Saabs and a BMW dealership.

Received a call from this number on my cell phone. When I answered they hung up. I purchased a new Honda Civic yesterday - seems that this may be related to that looking at everyone else's posts.

My cellphone is on the Do Not Call List, but apparently that does not stop them from calling.

I got a call from 888-502-7225 as well.  when I picked up I didn't say anything, there was a pause then a beep and a man came on asking for me by my first name so without saying anything I hung up.  I havent bought a car or been to a dealership for years so I doubt that this number is directly related to and/or restricted to interaction with a dealership.

I signed up on a Ford dealership web site this past weekend and have recieved no less than 3 calls per day from this phone #.  I never answer numbers I do not recognize and they do not leave a message.

I have the same thing going on. I am in the market for a new truck, but I have been doing most of my looking online, and a few of the dealerships ask for a contact number.  Well in the last 24 hours I have had 6 calls. I answered the last one and they messed up saying my name so I hung up on them. I guess I'll see how this continues to play out...

I bought a Volvo in March 2007. Calls from this number came right after, then tapered off. I had my first service on my new Volvo in July and, guess what??? Calls started coming from this number again, this time at home and at work.

Googled this number and found this site.  Received a call at work with no message.  I wouldn't have thought of it if I hadn't read the messages here, but we just had our car in for service last week at the Mercedes dealership.  I gave my work number to the service rep.

i put in a quote for a car and the dealership called today to say they were going to email me a quote on the car and an hour or so later i got a call from the same number but they didnt leave a message.

I too have received several calls from this number since inquiring online about buying a new Ford.

Got a call on my cell phone several times today. I was starting to look for a car today and had a dealership call me back. Thats when the number started calling me. I didn't pick it up in time and they didn't leave a message.

Searched Ford website last night.  Had to enter my phone number and address to see local dealer inventory.  Got a call next day from this number.  The woman claimed to be from my local ford dealership.  Told her I was shopping on line to avoid being harassed by car dealers, and please remove my phone number from her call list.

I've had similar problems like this in the past.  This tactic has always stopped the calls.  Don't let the person your talking to intimidate you, you owe them nothing.  If the get pushy, just hang up.  Hope this helps.

I purchased a car from Hyundai of Daphne and two days later started getting calls from this number on my cell phone no less.  I called the dealership and they were adamant that my number couldn't have been given out even though I checked the box on the paperwork that says don't give my information to third parties because it hasn't been in the system long enough.  After arguing with him for 3 or 4 minutes telling him I have never gotten calls from this number before, he admitted that it was from Elead which a company they hire to supposedly track customer service.  Thanks for keeping my cell phone number so private Hyundai of Daphne.
