This number is listed on a "Recorded Deed Notice" as a number to call to pay for an unsolicited, phony property appraisal.  There was a hang-tag on my gate with all the correct county property appraiser's office information, with a scam artist's name "JUSTIN" and cell phone number from our area:  352-614-7166.  I am convinced he is from California, using this phony number however these scammers do this.  A few days later I got a phony notice that I owed them $95 for an appraisal.  He hung the tag on my gate when I was home, but claimed to have come by when my gate was open -- I ran to town, wasn't gone long, but if he did step foot on my property during that time, that, too, was illegal, along with his scam.  Maybe this guy was hiding in the bushes and saw me leave, who knows?  I don't trust any hand written numbers on such things, so I called the county office, but I called this guy's cell number, too, to see what he had to say.  He had a nice-guy spiel down pat...from California, living in Williston now because his family moved there.  These scammers have sent this around before and they tend to go after people who just bought property.  The Courier-Tribune (California) had an article about this about February 2020.

Lots of scummy companies send solicitations disguised as invoices or bills like this number.  Heck, I've even seen political donation solicitations following this model.  I have to check with my mom every month to reinforce that she shouldn't send money to anyone that she doesn't regularly write a check to without verifying with me first because of Scammers like this.
