They call and tell me i'm about to be arrested for some kind of un-paid debt

Called asking for a family member and stated they were about to be served but wouldn't say why and gave a case number.

I received a call saying a complaint has been filed against me and a warrant would be served if I didn't call a certain number within 1 hour.  I was also given my case file number.  When I asked what it was about, I was just told about the complaint filed against me.

They said the same thing to me!
Word for word.. Than ...Click. dead phone. 1hr, to call that number. But word for word what you said..

I got this call too asking if a specific relative is home. I asked him why are they calling and said that someone filed a complaint against him. I continued to ask why and the person on the phone said that information private and I would have to call this number along with a reference number. It sounds pretty suspicious and I asked him where he is exactly calling from and he replied back saying he was calling from the Complaint Nationwide Private Search. I tried looking it up and found no results.

These people are from a collection agency that BUYS your info from the original creditor and then HARASSES the debtor into believing that they can be arrested for an outstanding balance on a phone bill etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow I called today to type the name Jack Donahue Into by name directory....said no one by that name is found. So as I'm suspicious I came across this site. I'm out $50 but not about to be out $100 more. I feel like a total idiot.

I have not use her for a reference for anything for 10 years at least and the mail any warrants I called

THESE PEOPLE CALLED ME LIKE 2 WEEKS AGO STATING THAT THEY WILL TAKE ME TO JAIL FOR NOT PAYING MY DEBT THAT WAS OVER 12 YEARS OLD, GET OUT OF HERE, FROM MY UNDERSTANDING THEY CANT COME AFTER YOU AFTER 7 YEARS, I TOLD THEM TO F**** OFF AND THAT I WILL HAVE MY ATTORNEY CONTACT THEM WITHIN THE HOUR AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS NO NEED TO GET ONE THAT ITS A CIVIL MATTER AND I CAN DO IT ON MY OWN, I TOLD HIM NOT TO CONTACT ME ANYMORE, THEY ARE A SCAM AND THEY BUY OLD A**  DEBT ACCOUNTS FOR PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR AND THEY TRY TO SCARE YOU INTO PAYING THEM, DO NOT PAY THEM THEY ARE NOT REALLY GOING TO SEND YOU TO JAIL.

someone from this number called and asked for me specifically.  They indicated it was very important, left this number and gave a case number.  My mother, who is 87 years old didn't think to specifically request the company they were calling from.  I looked at the caller ID and it said New York.

This guy from the state called my son looking for me and told him that there is a case against me and they have to summons me to court.  They said they are going to serve me papers for something, but didn't know what for.  He told him that he knows where I live but he just wants to help before that happens and to call 8885118230 and he gave me a case number.  the name of the guy is Darrell. After reading these posts, I'm not going to even return the call.  Thank all of you guys for easing my mind.

This company is currently under investigation. No need to answer questions in any form.  Thank you

Hello, this number 888-511-8230 is saying they are a law firm (jjr) and want to serve me with papers? They even claim to have a case number. It seems like a scam to me.. Can anybody help that has delt with these people? Thanks!

A family member of mine received a call from this company today claiming I have a civil suit pending that I will be receiving papers for. They provide claim number but won't state what debt is for. Thanks to you all for providing this info. I won't bother to return call. I'll just wait for "papers".
