This was in an email that I rec'd from what looked to be my credit card company (Capitol One) regarding some recent restrictions on my credit card, asking me to 'click here'. There was a phone number included in the message.  So I called the number and first there was a message reminding the caller that they 'will never ask for any personal information'.  Then the next question they ask is for my credit card number!  

I tried various options such as the pound key, star key and 0 key to get a live person, to no avail.  

So I hung up.

it is a scam to get your credit card information.

I received the same e-mail

I got it, too. I put it fake numbers and 'they' seemed to know they were fake. Damn scammers...

I got a fake one from Bank of America today, too - and I don't even have an account with them.
