I got a text from them saying that they received my application on 99 the text came through yesterday September 22nd 23rd rather and it came at 5:56 p.m. and was like everybody else asking me to be patient that it may take up to 30 days to process my application and at the bottom it was made to look like it came from DCF because that's what they put DCF. I never applied for a job at DCF not in the last 20 years anyway

Cut & paste of EXACT text message received on 12.11.24 and again on 12.23.24:
“Thank you for submitting your application on 12/10. We are actively working on your request. Please allow 30 days for your application to be processed. - DCF”

Per my last post for same number, “DCF” is a Florida Government operation that handles child protection assistance. I have no children (under 26 yrs of age). So, I’m going to have to say this is some sort of a scam. I mean imagine if I DID have children under 18 and got a message from Child Protection Services? Could cause alarm followed by bad decisions by many parents. I say - report number, block number, move on.

This is NOT a scam message.  The Department of Children and Families (DCF) is responsible for far more than investigating complaints of child neglect.  DCF is responsible for programs such as Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA), Adult Protective Services, and many more.  If you received,

(what is in quotes was taken from the website) it is because it is time for medicaid redetermination. Such a text message will tell you to access your information on the MyAccess web site.  If you received such a text and you are not using any of these or the other services DCF provides it is likely an error.  Someone who used this service may have had your number in the past, or may have entered their number incorrectly into their application.  You can contact DCF and let them know of the error.  Here is their number but be prepared to wait:  (850) 300-4323.

It's a text about SNAP/Food Stamp or Medicaid applications not employment

this is a scam.  I also received the same message and never have applied to DCF.  When you call the number it is disconnected.

My question is weather or not it's real or scam. I haven't applied for any benefits so I don't see how it's real.

Please refrain from posting misinformation.  Please read my post (just two before  yours).

Go online to the MyAccess website.  If you haven't already done so, set up your online account with the SSA.gov.  You can access the site here: https://www.ssa.gov/myaccount/  If you received a text from this number, it will tell you to go to your MyAccess account or call the 800 number.  It will NOT ask you for your personal information.  It is simply an outgoing messages number.  If you received a text in error you can let them know.  DCF is responsible for more than benefits applications.  Please, go to the site and get your information from the organization not from trolls who get a kick out of posting misinformation.  Think about it: how would a scammer benefit from sending you to the legitimate government website?  That's all these texts do.  However, a scammer would benefit by throwing out misinformation and having you ignore a legitimate call.  For your own sake, go online or call the published number.

Definite scam! I am a 64-y/o caucasion male who has never, ever filed for any gov't assistance. Plus the only children i have are way too scared to turn me in so nahhhh not dcf! Plus dcf will never text you blindly11
