husbands cell received call marked private - did not answer -- a Ken Ross said he was a process server -- threatening this Brandy Riggins --- had papers he needed to serve -- at home or at her place of employment.  left number for her to call 888-531-5550 ---

I called the number spoke with a Josh Farral - if that IS his real name --- said company is Mediation management --- asked where they were out of - he said New York --- I advised that my husbands cell number better be removed from their files --- he said he would "fax" server --- I asked for THAT number and of course he would not give it.  I called the Sheriff Dept and they said it sounded like a scam --- I gave him no information.  

I've been receiving calls looking for my daughter in law and have just ignored them, but today they left a voice message saying that he was Ken Ross with the process server for Douglas County and that he would be at my house between 5 and 7 pm to serve me with a stop notice and to have ID and a witness available.  I called the police department and they won't take a report until something actually happens but said that if he does show up to call 911 immediately.

How do we get these people to stop?

REAL process servers do NOT call first.  They show up unannounced.  Also -if they gave you any information about your daughter in law, that is also  ILLEGAL!

You could also give the Douglas County court house (civil division) a call.  They will confirm the scam.
