Look up a local FBI phone number write it down by the phone.  When these people call say "Oh he or she moved, but I have the new number" and then give the number you have written down. If they start harassing the Federal Government it won't last long.

Or get their name and insist on their real name not the phone they are giving on the phone. Tell them you are going to send a payment when you get home (as if they are calling you a work now). make sure you have the correct name for them and the company they work for. Start calling their employer saying you are from another competing debt collector and that this person has applied and you are going to hire them as soon as you verify their current employer, make sure you drop in little hints of how bad they said their current employer is.

Is it wrong to do most of this stuff? Yes, but is it right from them to continually harass you over someone elses debt? I've worked in these positions they won't take you off any list as they suspect you are always who they are calling for and trying to out fox them.

They keep calling but never talks when I answer now they are calling my job and I don't know who they are
