The phone number that called me was 510-534-3872.  I was told that the phone call was coming from Xcel energy and they were going to disconnect our power within 45 minutes.  Was directed to call the number of 888-549-1521 to stop that from happening.  Was told the back payment was in excess of $1900.00 and I was to go to Walmart to make a payment.  BEWARE  This is an obvious scam and this number must be tied into it.

This exact thing just happened to me. Seems like an operation of americans living in the ghetto.

Called us today at the medical office and gave a reference number of 0168693577 and said our power would be shut off in 45 minutes.   FPL billing dept is not even open today.  The caller got snarky when we assumed it was a scam.  Clearly it is.

Same thing just happened to me saying my power was being shut off if I didn't pay $1874.36 at Walmart now

Claiming to be Duke Energy and if I didn't pay now my power would be shut off.

I had the same things happened to me. Because g scam going on. Be careful

Be careful. Big scam. They representing different electric companies every day. They will send you a bar code to go to Wallmart and transfer money.

Call received this morning said he was from Northwestern Energy (NWE).  Told me I had 45 minutes before power was being disconnected for non-payment.  Said this was about new services provided to our showroom and gave me work order #W3266589.  Said I needed to call this number immediately, ask for a manager, and reference technician short #242 (probably so he would get credit for this tomfoolery).  Caller ID said it was local number which I looked up (not NWE).  Also, I'm set up on AutoPay for everything they do for us.  Definitely a scam!!!

A person who told me his name was "James Patel" at 951-889-9708, called to say that our electricity (Colorado Springs Utilities) was about to be cut off. He told me to call 888-549-1521 to pay by phone. Obviously a scam, but I'm at work so I just told him I would pass the message along.

I also received a message from "Patel" saying he was calling from Colorado Springs Utilities.

Called our company and told me that a technician was on their way to disconnect our electric. We pay on line and we had no payment past due, we are paid to date. They could not give me any information but a number to call them back and a WOS #. We called bge and it is a scam.

Called from 470 516 6702. Told me power would be cut at my business but gave the wrong power company. Similar to stories others have told. Said power will be cut in 45 minutes unless I called 888 549 1521 to pay the bill.

Nathan called from SDGE cutting off power today at 1pm given 888.549.1521 x105 to call back. SCAM.

This number called my business in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  They claimed to be from Colorado Springs Utilities.  Same story everyone else is posting.  They put you on with one person who collects information about how much your monthly bill is and then transfer you to another person who says that if you don't pay your past bills, your power will be shut off.

Called my place of business and said that we were past due on our electricity bill and that they would cut our power off today. They definitely are a bunch of morons because most of us know when our bill is due. Protect the elderly.

Guy said he was working with Duke Energy and was gonna disconnect my line in 45 minutes due to an incorrect energy bill statement. Told me to call this number. Said he was on the property waiting for the work order to go through

Lady said she was with "Kentucky Power" and our power would shut off in the next hour due to late payment. I knew it was scam so I asked for a call back number and reference number. Ref 8520 is what she gave me.
