They called and didn’t leave a message. Searched on here and it’s listed as a number for Comet Loans out of AZ.  Never heard of them.

"Asia" from "Comet Loan" called the office I'm a gatekeeper for, asking for one of our employees. I stated she wasn't available & to call her cell phone then hung up. Scam calls are unwelcome here.

This is a valid loan company out of Arizona. The employee probably applied for a loan

They are a Payday Loan lender and if an employee gave their employer's number as a contact on their loan application,  I would think they will be in trouble. Most likely its the Debt Collection dept. who found out the work number.

Comet Loans is a Native American owned business operated by Tonto Apache Tribe, a sovereign nation located in the United States. Comet Loans abides by all applicable federal laws and regulations as established by the Tonto Apache Tribe.
Heres a little something to note :
"Comet Loans are funding by Automated Clearing House (ACH) electronic crediting directly to your bank account."
So they will have your banking information and over draft your account if you don't have sufficient funds in your account.

Payday loans are no longer legal in Arizona. The law that permitted payday loans in Arizona expired on June 30, 2010, and consumer loans with annual percentage rates (APRs) over 36% became illegal on July 1, 2010.

Many tribal lenders use their sovereign immunity to circumvent standard payday loan regulations.

They have called three times today. The first time, I answered and they asked for someone named Stephanie. (Why is it always Stephanie?) the second and third time, I did not pick up and they have not left messages

They called my autistic 15 year old child’s phone while he was in school. After the first call when he told them don’t call back they called 5 more times.
We’ve had our numbers for over 10 years and when I called the company myself she insisted it was a number for some random name we’ve never heard of....
They randomly generate numbers to call.

I answered the first time they called. They advised I had completed a loan application. I told them no, and that I wasn't interested. She said she would withdraw the app if I answered 3 security questions. I said no way, and hung up. I blocked the number on my cell phone. They called 7 times after that. That was yesterday. Today, no calls on my cell, but one just came in to my work phone. Holy moly, I said I wasn't interested!!

This number called my workplace for another person.  Did not give a name or a company name after she was told that the person had already left for the day.

This number called me 5 times this morning in a 3 hour period. I called the number back, was greeted with a Comet Loans telephone menu. I selected item "2" to speak with a rep. Told her I had no business with Comet Loans and that my number should be removed from their list. She said I would need to "verify some information" first. I declined and insisted my number be removed. She said she could not remove my number without getting my name and some other information. I declined and told her I am not required to give personally identifiable information to have them quit calling me. I ask for a manager and was put on hold for 3 minutes. The apologetic manager insured me my number would be removed. I reminded him that his staff was trying to collect PII in order to stop calling someone.

I received 30 calls from this person in the last 24 hours. I never answered and they never left voice mails so I blocked them. One of my coworkers picked up the phone at work and claimed they needed to speak to me on a “personal matter” but wouldn’t give her a reason. I called them today and the lady said she was from some loan company (I haven’t applied for a loan since I got my auto loan in 2017), so I asked to be removed from her call list and she said I could if I verified my SSN and gave her my credit card information. Sorry but no. But she happily took me off the list once I told her I wouldn’t provide her with that info. Clearly a scam. 10/10 do NOT recommend.
