Automated caller stating they were from Accent about my Health Insurance, and referenced an account number.  I have no such insurance, and none of my account numbers are even close to the number they gave.

I got an auto dialer message from this company, Accent Health Insurance, and just like the post from Cee on 2/12/09 they are not my insurance company and there was a reference to an account number that has no meaning to me.  My phone number is on the do not call list.  It would be appreciated if Accent would respect that.

I had a call from this number and when I returned the call they questioned me about my health care with my physician.  Said that my back issues may be related to a prior injury and they needed to confirm that.  My back issues are not related to any injuries.  I need to know if this is some sort of scam.

Accent would be more appropriately referred to as a loss mitigation company.  If, for example, an injury took place in your home with an expensive trip to the emergency room, Accent will try to seek reimbursement (for your heath insurance company) from your home owners policy. The same would be true if you were involved in a car accident and went to the doctor.  Accent would be trying to recover the medical cost from your car insurance company.

Clearly they get a percentage of each dollar they recover for the insurance company.

This caller, for which there was another phone number on my phone id, requested me to call 888-556-5373 to receive a package sent to me by my health insurer and left a "case number."  That number was not in the format used by UPS and I have no active business with my health insurer.

I conclude that I was meant to assume that the caller represented UPS.
