Unsolicited call claiming to have knowledge of unclaimed funds belonging to me

Postcard received from Preferred Refunds, 100 Congress St STE 2000, Austin, TX 78701.. Bold “REFUND NOTIFICATION” and $$ amount prominently displayed on address side of postcard.   888-563-0210 is “CALL IMMEDIATELY” number.
Internet search turned up:   https://preferredrefunds.com/     832-240-7707 is number given on website

is it a scam?

I did received the same notification, it must be a scam”

Got a post card to immediately call them for a refund. I think it is a scam so did not call

I did have a refund but they want part of the money to get it for me..I called the texas comptroller directly.

So... is not a scam?

2 people that I know received post cards stating they are owed funds from a Texas Based Public Agency. I checked the unclaimed property website claimittexas.org which is the state website that lists funds you are owed by any company that has reported it as they should annually. I was able to locate funds owed to other individuals but not one of the two that received the post card. This is bogus. The address listed is for a virtual office in Austin. Just like the Geekdom building in San Antonio. It was not a call but a post card that was received with the number listed on it. The names and address listed on the post cards match up to what the county tax office has listed for property taxes. When checking the county tax site there are not credits on file.

I received a card also and found no listing dith either the state nor Tarrant county who is currently making refunds.
It is a federal crime known as "Mail Fraud" to send out scams in the mail. If it is a fraud,  I am going to report it to the Postal Authorities.

I also received a card in the mail stating that there was money due me. However I already knew that there was a way to claim it and it was nothing close to what they are saying that I’m owed. More than likely they will take your information and do the same thing that you can do through www.claimittexas.org. Did not call the number on the card 888-563-0210

Tire of the phone calls and mail. I am reporting them to the Federal Agency.
