Called today to state that they had a summons issued on me for bank fraud.  Said it seemed unusual considering my background is clean.  Asked that I call them to resolve the matter.  I'm sure if I'd called they would have wanted money or personal information.  It's obviously a scam.

They called my sister asking for me! Claiming they were with Elite something about an appearance notice and have my mother's address saying they would be sending someone to that address and they needed me to contact them. Also Gave her a reference number.

They just called my JOB.  American Elite about a "civil complaint" or something but he couldn't tell me what it was about.  Called from this number but told me to call back the SAME number and get more information...really dude??

Got a call from this person stating that I need to contact them back or my proper attorney as I have a pending case in my name and I must call within 24 hours. I have no clue who the hell they are. I have no pending cases. This is getting old.

Called my number as if it was my brothers number. Said they had a summons to release to him. This is the Third scam call this month.

Some lady called asking for someone that I dont know (just got a new number 2 months ago), told her she had the wrong number. She paused and then said yeah this you, well you have a warrant and hung up the phone? Cant wait for them to call again, I will play along with them next time ;)

They called my brother looking for me stating I had a legal document to pick up N they had a business address

This company called me about my mother and called out personal information .. this is ridiculous i will Be pressing charges!!

Called my JOB looking for me; said they had been to my home and could not serve me with legal papers so they wanted to set up another time so i needed to call another # to reschedule service. Caller said she was a process courier.  I have NO pending legal issues, and she insisted I contact the phone # and ask for Mike Kelly. Yeah, wait on that call ...

Called me twice in the last week with messages for my brother (who does not live with me and never has). Used my old name and told me my brother needs to call them or they'll be sending uniformed officers to his address and that he's been notified. Not sure why they are calling me if they know where my brother is and already notified him LOL but ok.

Said that i had an over draft that i owed from 2007 and That they had sent somebody for an appearance notice

Called a relative 4 weeks ago, I called them back and spoke to a Paul Covin with American Elite.  Said they had a legal issue where I owed their client Wells Fargo for an account opened in 2007 and Wells Fargo was now taking me to court over it.  HAHAHA  Said someone would be out to serve me an appearance notice. Asked if I could clear it up with him, of course I didn't.  Called Wells Fargo to see if anything was credible.  Wells Fargo has no record of charging off any account for me.  Also told me that they don't sue people who owe them money.  "Paul Colvin" has continued to call and leave me voicemails once or twice a week.  No one has ever come out to my home.  I am home all the time.  DO NOT answer the phone if these people call you, DO NOT give them any personal information.  THIS IS A SCAM.

Called my Cousin then the next day called my work.  Stated that I had physically walked into Advanced America in 2011, borrowed money and told them I would be back in two weeks to pay and never came back.  I advised him he had called the Sheriff's Office (because that's where I work) and he stated he didn't care he just needed to resolve the matter.  I told him I knew the manager at Advance America and I would call her he told me to go ahead she wouldn't know anything about it.  He says he is filing a civil suit against me so I told him to do what he had to do and he said he would and hung up.  I did call Advance America and talked to the manager and she said it was a SCAM!  Scary part - He had my full Social Security Number, Bank account info, and knew where I worked.

A Rosa Montigo stated that she was from the Barry County Advocate program, which there is no such thing, stated that they tried to send a certified notification attempted last week Wednesday, which is untrue because I am home all the time as I work from home and my mail lady comes around 11:30.  She will knock if she has something for me to sign.  This Rosa stated it was returned to my office unsigned.  Well, that is untrue that they tried because if you are not home, they will leave a paper in your mailbox and they will attempt 3 more times before they return it, so all lies.  She wants me to call to get the details of my appearance in county court (Barry County by the way) a week from today, which is Thursday, to get information to schedule time for that and had a case #pdl407595.  What a scam!  I am not going to call and I have not had any letters or anything of the sort.  I thank you all for this site because if this wasn't on here, I'd be scared to death that I had a court case.  I suppose I could call Barry County Courthouse to see if there is a case against me....hmm or call the person back and harrass her because she called my cell phone and my home phone 3 x.

Nothing but a bunch convicted felons running a scam. I highly doubt that my minor child has any debt out there. I knew they were fakes when I questioned her and she called me a B. Very professional. Also, spoke with a man who really had bad a terrible mouth. Again, not a law firm. Just bottom-feeders grasping at straws.

I just received the same phone call  about an old debt which has been cleared. I called the company that the debt was still resolved .  Long story short what to do about these guys?

If you have proof your debt is paid, then you don't need to do anything. You can either block & ignore them...or you can take the time to document proof of who it is that is harassing you and sue them for it.

Paul Colvin has called multiple, multiple times saying the same type of thing, saying I owe Capital One.  I have blocked the number, however they call my elderly mother (85 yrs) and get her upset saying that they and the police are looking for me. For this, I'm totally pissed. I have asked them to quit calling my family but they continue to do so. However, they did make a really big mistake on their part, they sent an email to me with a credit card number on it. I called Capital One and the # is bogus. So at least this shows proof that they are fraudulent. I have sent this to Capital One for fraud. They even went as far as hacking the Clerk of Court office in my town, gave a name of person trying to contact me. My sister just happens to work there and told me that the Sheriff's Dept doesn't contact by phone, they just show up to your home with a summons, and the name the man gave was also made up. I also had her check to see if there was a summons in my name and she said NO.  They also say that they are in the area and going to show up at my house, well this hasn't happened either. If they want me so bad for this, i'm not that hard to find. Don't you wish you could get their number and harass the crap out of them.

I received 5 calls back to back talking about i had a payday loan, the 2nd time i had a car that i never had so they gonna put a lien on it, 3rd x i had bank closed account lawsuit pending, and so on...... I guess my life is really complicated!!!!!!!

Have you ever noticed this weird pattern?   Holidays, tax season, vacation time and return to school in the fall.  This business of trying to make life miserable for hard working people or in some cases the retired never stops.  What are they thinking ?  That we would just give up our hard earned money?  I think not. What a waste of time.  (LOL).  :)
