After getting many emails from different banks I opened a claim with Comcast Security. The correct number is 888-565-4329 but they will send you an email with the correct incident number

They were probably returning a call from whoever called them. It is the correct number for the Comcast Security. I've used it many times.

They were most likely to be checking your line on the pole. If the truck said Comcast it was the correct truck.

First, this may or may not be a number for Comcast but as phone numbers are easily spoofed, it may not actually be Comcast calling.
Second, if you know to whom this number belongs, why did you come to a phone number look-up site?

I suspect it was a legit display if it gave this number as a call back number, since scammers don't give out the legitimate number because they won't be able to answer it to scam you.

This number is for the  Comcast Security Assurance team, so if you called them, you shouldn't need to worry about the info you gave. The concern is when this number calls you that it could be a scammer spoofing the number and you don't want to give any info to a caller you weren't expecting a call from.

Legit for you does not mean legit for others. Scammers routinely spoof legit numbers to make them seem legit.

I keep getting these calls too. Definitely a scam. My question is, why doesn’t Comcast figure out how these people are getting our Comcast info to make these calls in the first place!

I got a message "you have connection problems". I called 1-800 Comcast and the robot said they would do a Console Reset. I watched TV the whole time, no reset was done. Robot directed me to the 888-565-4329 number, their "Security Section". I called it and was in a scammy sales boiler room..."You have already won a car detail and three oil changes" then "You have won a $100 gift card, press 1 to verify your winning." Of note: comcast Customer Service REFUSES to elevate me to a Level Two or Supervisor, the accent is Far Eastern, as in a Mumbai or Karachi Call Center. Next, after hanging up on them, I got three straight calls from 888-565-4329, none of which left messages. No calls since (for the last 17 hours).

My call-blocker intercepted a call from this number because it has been flagged as a scam.

I was scammed last week and they got a bunch of money from me before I caught on.  I did call comcast and they said they would take the details and get back to me.  So this number came in as a comcast call.  They said security.  Anyway, I'm suspicious now and looked up the number.  Looks like it may be another (or part of the same) scam.  BBB says comcast would not contact me in this way.

It's called phone number spoofing.
