- TickedoffGot this call at work. Said her name was Laura Davis and was coming to my place of employment to give me a subpoena to appear in court, but if I called 888-566-6095 then I could stop this from happening. I called and they wanted me to send them $900 for a payday loan they said I owed. When I told them I had no money to pay them, they then dropped it down to $599. That's when I knew it was a scam and they wanted to know my bank information. Laura Davis then called back and said that since this has not been resolved, she is going to come to my office and give me a subopoena. Know this is bogus as no one from another state can send you a subpoena. The company has to be in the same state for someone to sue you.

- ButtercupMy Human Resource Manager informed me of the same thing. Someone call my work and stated that they were going to serve papers on me. I'd advised my manager that I have been plagued with these so call scam set-ups and to alert me if I received any more calls. Be aware of these people.

- TiredofscamsA gentleman called my work saying he was going to serve me papers on a loan I owed them. He spoke to my Office Manager ad upset her. I called the number the gentleman left for me to call....I was scared! And they tried to pressure me into giving them 710.00 over the phone. When I told them my situation with loan companies calling to scam me she immeditaley dropped the charges down to 510.00....Luckily I lost my ATM card because it took me awhile to get out of fear mode and think straight. Then I realized these guys are just scam artists too. I spoke to several people in the company asking for their website to confirm they are ligitimate and they said they are a litigation company and they do not have websites...This morning the guy called my work again and spoke with my Boss!! She called and asked if someone was trying to serve me papers? I was so embarrassed...then a Robert Green called me again saying he was going to have to serve me the papers.TODAY.and said I should call the company back and just pay the money. I said No go ahead and serve me the papers! I want to see what this is all about...then he said he was going to stop off at an old address of mine from 35 years ago and put the papers in the mailbox....Rediculous. You have to stand up to these people and let them know you are not stupid..Demand to get some kind of proof they are who they say they are and DO NOT GIVE THEN MONEY!!

- WinterSomeone saying they are Frank Thomas called yesterday and told the receptionist who answers the phone that the call was regarding charges against me and that he was trying to serve me with documents. He told her that if I didn't call and straighten things out that I would be served at work. He called again today.
I've read enough about these calls to know that these are scare tactics used to frighten and embarrass people into paying. They ask you for bank info so they can debit your account or they ask you to purchase a pre-paid debit card and to call them with the card number in order to pay off this supposed debt you owe. Paying them doesn't stop the calls. They just use a different name and different company and different phone number the next time they call you.
They also use Magic Jack and other VOIP means to call which means you can get a call from a local area code number but if you ask them what state they are calling from, you'll discover they are not in your state. They don't have websites. They won't mail or email you details about your "Case" or "Claim" number so you can look into it. They just bully you on the phone. If you ignore them, someone else calls saying they are the initial caller's supervisor and that they have a record of you speaking to that first caller and it's been escalated to the supervisor because you haven't paid. The "supervisor" says they can make the embarrassment of being arrested or served papers at your work go away if you will just pay.
It's all a scam. They can't arrest you for a debt.- Caller: Nationwide
