A lady called me, saying that my computer has 'internal errors', which she will correct if I'll go to my computer and push keys as she directs.  This is, of course, a dangerous instruction.  I asked her whether I could call her back, and she gave  me this phone number (1-888-572-2914, extension 8012), which -- in the internet -- leads to a website which looks authentic, but which has some problems with vernacular English and invites baseless trust; and I won't contact it.

Called me and asked "was I having problems with my computer."  I told them no. The man sounded very convincing, but after some discussion, I felt very uncomfortable with this. He gave me his name as John. I called the number back (888-572-2914) and a woman with "Tech Support." I said, oh I sorry. I dialed the wrong number.

Company said I had over 2000 problems with my computer which was news to me. Sounds like a way to get you to buy some kind of software, which I do not need.

I got a call to my Cell from Unknown and a William James with a very heavy India accent (Which I am sure, they change their names so customers can be able to understand and pronounce such names) says that I have Windows problems that got reported automatically. I said I did not. However, I asked for the man's number so I can get back to them since I was not at my PC so he gave me a 1-888-572-2914 with ID#8010 to call him back, that he was expecting my call. I will not call because Windows (Microsoft) would not call me with such excuse. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM. They might want to sell you something. I do not even want to find out.

I got a call saying my computer is sending the Windows Support Center errors from my computer. A man from x8015 said he could help me. I asked which computer. He did not put me on mute and I heard him repeating my questions to someone else. Finally, he said Dell Inspiron. I advised I don't have that computer and he hung up.

I got a call to my cell phone from unknown caller with a very heavy india accent saying that it was a computer generated call that I my computer was sending windows support center errors.  I asked her for the name of the company and her phone number she said comtech and the number she gave me 1-888-572-2914 ext # 8004 and her name is Nancy.  I call back of course no one answers then someone calls me back from that number so in a very high tone happy voice I say that I'm calling back to give them access to my computer and my credit card number so that they can do whatever ! they want to do with my info !!!  Then the girl that called me back asked who called me and I said Nancy so after I hear them whispering and laughing covering up the phone another girl gets on the phone who says she is Nancy ..... So I repeat my very sarcastic voice and tell her the same thing she then hangs up on me!

I got a call from a heavy Indian accented guy who called himself Jack supposedly from Windows Techncial Assistance.
I have had a problem with Windows and actually I was expecting a call form real MSN Windows.. He wanted to take control of my computer.
Iwas suspicious but went on with it and the password he gave made me more suspicious. I am vey well used to MSN, Windows etc taking charge of my computer to deal with problems but this was different. I told him too give me a numnber to call back and he gave 888-572-2914 EXT 8019. I called back and the guy answerd and I asked for the name of the company and he said it was COMTECH'. I knew that it was a fraud I had suspected > THese criminals must be stopped.

same as other write ups...based on their claim my computer had notified them I asked several questions the caller should have been able to answer  (IP, Computer Name, software version, error id.'s, internet provider, cpu, etc.) they couldn't answer any of them. Stated I would not provide any info without further research was given this number to call back. I then informed the caller I am an IT Systems Engineer working in the Computer Crimes Division for a Law Enforcement Agency the caller hung up. The caller's original phone number was 516-453-6886 is a scammer's number out of NY.

Caller stated her name was Lisa from 888-572-2914 ext 8003, stated that she was Based in Chicago (did not say what country). She stated that my Windows program had sent several messages that it was infected.  She wanted to put a program on on my system that would eliminate the problem. This was the second call I had received in three days.
Why doesn't Microsoft investigate this concern?  I suspect this is a scam.  Next time I will ask them to give me my computer identification information.

I received a call from a man named Rodney with a heavy foreign accent.  He said that Microsoft had detected that my Windows had been updated and the update was corrupt; therefore he needed me to go to my computer and follow his instructions. I told him I didn't trust him; then he gave me this number to call 888-572-2914 ext. 8014 and ask for him.  I immediately went to my Vonage account and blocked the unavailable number he called me on.

I just got a call from Shawn.  He said he was from Microsoft at 888-572-2914 x 8013 and asked me to go to my computer to fix problems they were seeing on the network.  Seems like I got a call a few months ago like this when I was having problems - almost sounds like the same guy.  That time it came to a point in the process where he wanted me to buy 'protection'.  Can't anybody protect us from these scammers?
