- StephI didn't receive a call from this number, but I've gotten about 50 emails from a suspicious looking Best Buy source saying that I have a credit card with them and that I need to make a payment or update my information. I DO NOT have a best buy card and it isn't anywhere on my credit report. I believe this is a fishing scam. The number in the email is 1-888-574-1301. When you call they ask for the cc number (which of course you don't have because it doesn't exist) OR to identify by your SS number. I hung up and keyed in nothing.
WHERE is the government to regulate this stuff. Who's protecting our information? I emailed the ACTUAL Best Buy fraud abuse email address. Hopefully they can confirm that I don't have a card in my name. It would be impossible to open without my SS# which I'm positive they don't have.- Caller: Best Buy Citi Credit Card

- MikeHuntleton replies to Gale RaffertySorry that you didn't qualify for the "Most Calls in a Day" contest, so maybe posting about the call itself might be useful.
- Rob| 1 replyThis is seriously an issue. I’m getting calls and emails that look exactly like Best Buy. It keeps saying my account will be closed due to payment due. I have never even used the card . It’s been months of this happening and I’m not even sure how much of my info I have given them . I went to Citi bank they said can’t help , went to Best Buy they say go to Citi bank . I’m also getting mail from them with same thing asking for payment . Going in circles it’s scary . Even more scary no one at the bank or Best Buy cares. When they call and ask for my name I say no he’s not here and they just hang up .
- Caller: Best Buy
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigA replies to RobYou gave them information? What type of information? Why did Citibank say that they can't help? They must have given a reason.
- MarcSomeone trying to hack my Amazon account. Had to delete it. The calls and text messages stopped

- Kimberly CooleyI received a call from 888.574.1301. A man said I had a Citibank Mastercard credit card and someone tried to use it on eBay. I do not have a Citibank card and told him. He said I did, and gave me the last four of my Social Security number. I announced I would call eBay from my app and l was disconnecting the call. He tried to overtalk me saying something about not calling them but I still hung up. He called right back twice. I didn't answer and blocked the number the third time.
I called Citibank from their website. They determined I do not have a Citibank card but they do service other companies. I have Home Depot but I doubt someone tried using that on eBay. The Customer Service Rep wasn't very helpful. I tried to give her the phone number but she said they didn't need it and l was being scammed. I hung up and decided not to invest any more time than this.- Caller: "Citibank"
